Hey, all you mages out there, here is a few thing to think about doing with your low-level mage to keep him alive:





1) travel to Balmora right away and go to the Mage's guild, talk to the Guild Guide about "Spells".
2) Purchase some bound spells, like axe, longsword, boots or helm.
3) cast your newly acquired spell, like bound helm, for example.
4) unequip the item
5) drop the item onto the floor.
6) cast another, different "bound" spell, such as bound dagger.
7) wait for the dagger to expire and disappear.
8) The original bound item, such as the aforementioned bound helm, that is on the floor is now permanant, and can be repaired, etc. as normal armor/weapon.
----This weapon/armor has no wweight, and enhances certain attributes, such as heavy/medium/light/unarmored skills by a few points. this trick made life much, much easier to survive as a mage in the beginning for me.;) ;)
