Not silly at all, the quality of new releases gets crappier every year.
Since I got back to the US, I've been in a few electronics sections and game stores. Every single time I end up shaking my head as I realize that almost the entire selection of new games is crap.

I just remember it used to the case even a few years ago that I could go to a game store and find a few titles that I was interested in. May just be a bad year. 2011 gave us Portal 2, Arkham City, Human Revolution, Skyrim, and Dark Souls. So far this year, the only game that I was interested in enough to actually play was Mass Effect 3, which turned out to be a massive disappointment. Only other 2012 game I'm actually going to play is Dishonered.
Really, it isn't just pessimism. I'm fairly optimistic. The games industry is declining in quality, I'm lucky to be alive, and I'm in one of the best states in the country. For now its time to get into the outdoors and live a little bit.

Jesus Christables it's like talking to Jashin. Try actually reading what you said, then reading what I said, before you start beating off over how clever you think you are. You said that almost all games these days are crap, which was implying that 15 years ago every game was fucking amazing when THERE REALLY HAS BEEN NO CHANGE.
Also, you may be lucky to be alive after dodging so many imaginary bullets and living in a state with 4% minority population (I'm assuming that's why you say it's the best) but the rest of us would rather you find something else to do than post on TTLG.

Declining? You mean since the good old glory days of... last year? Even if no great games come out this year at all I think it's a bit early to claim that the industry is in decline, considering 2011 was the best year for gaming in... possibly ever.

I'm actually only lukewarm on Okami. Great art design, real sense of style, but there was far too much padding; I remember many sequences that asked me to grind in an MMO fashion "go kill X demons," not to mention the fact that they make you repeat the same boss fight THREE TIMES over the curse of the game, and then lazily make you fight ALL THE BOSSES again before the end because why not?
