Reflecting different national usages, cunt is described as "an unpleasant or stupid person" in the Compact Oxford English Dictionary, whereas Merriam-Webster states that it is a "usually disparaging and obscene" term for a woman or an "offensive way to refer to a woman" in the United States.

I was not going for a "Ban" or meaning to really "piss" off anyone, but it does appear that particular word crossed the line so my apologies.....

Ford is not refusing to testify. She said she would strongly prefer if the FBI investigated the matter first. And for good reason -- why should she stand trial like Anita Hill, being dragged though the mud for all the nation to see? Already the character assassinations have begun, as jkcerda so aptly demonstrates.
jkcerda on 20/9/2018 at 23:14
there is NOTHING to investigate, again everyone involved has denied it , no one at school other than her heard about it. it's a he said/she said type of deal where the accuser does NOT KNOW WHERE/WHEN it happened so what is the FBI or ANYONE else supposed to do? if ANYONE else KNEW about it, why have they NOT come forward? all Ford wants to do is get the headline out
"FBI investigating Kav". that is it since they have NOTHING else. if the demotards WANTED an investigation they could have done so WHEN they initially got the letter, shit they could have said something while doing the interviews instead of waiting to the last minute and CRYING about getting time blah blah blah. Ford never mentioned Kavs name until he was freaking nominated.

A senior White House official said Kavanaugh and his wife also have received threats.
Chuck Grassley, the committee's Republican chairman, on Wednesday sent a letter to Ford's lawyers giving her until 10 a.m. on Friday to submit prepared testimony if she intended to show up on Monday.
Ford's lawyers had said on Tuesday she would testify only i
f the FBI first investigated her allegation. The FBI has said it is not investigating, a decision backed by Republicans who have accused Democrats of trying to delay the confirmation process.

WHY should the republicans pander to her? again if the democrats cared at all they would have done something when the process started, not as it's wrapping up. elections have consequences.
Starker on 20/9/2018 at 23:26
This would not be a criminal investigation. It would be part of the background check of a nominee.
The letter was not shared with other senators before the White House sent it to the Senate Judiciary Committee. Though undoubtedly there were rumors floating around, as it often happens with such things.
Also, it's not the Democrats' fault there's such a big rush to nominate Kavanaugh. It's the Republicans who want to get him confirmed as fast as possible, even going as far as to dump huge amounts of documents just the night before the hearings started.
jkcerda on 20/9/2018 at 23:31
doesn't matter, all that matters is the headline
"FBI investigates Kav" for democrats to raise hell & try to delay until after the Nov elections.

When Senator Feinstein sat with Judge Kavanaugh for a long period of time — a long, long meeting — she had this letter. Why didn't she bring it up?” Trump said. “Why didn't the Democrats bring it up then? Because they obstruct and because they resist. That's the name of their campaign against me.”
The hearing was cast into uncertainty late Tuesday, as the lawyers for Ford said in a letter to the Judiciary Committee that an FBI investigation of the alleged sexual assault should come first. Feinstein quickly issued a statement saying the Senate should respect Ford's wishes and
“delay this hearing.”
there you go, it was released by Feinstein at the last minute in order to delay the hearing.

As she plots the next steps, Feinstein is dealing with questions about her recent ones —
most notably her decision to wait weeks before sharing Ford's letter, only issuing a cryptic statement last Thursday when word surfaced of its existence. The revelation came almost a week after Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings wrapped up
seriously hope the republicans give the democrats the middle finger for their antics.

Feinstein did not release the letter:

By late August, Ford had decided not to come forward, calculating that doing so would upend her life and probably would not affect Kavanaugh's confirmation. “Why suffer through the annihilation if it's not going to matter?” she said.
Her story leaked anyway. On Wednesday, the Intercept reported that Feinstein had a letter describing an incident involving Kavanaugh and a woman while they were in high school and that Feinstein was refusing to share it with her Democratic colleagues.
Feinstein soon released a statement: “I have received information from an individual concerning the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court,” she wrote. “That individual strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further, and I have honored that decision. I have, however, referred the matter to federal investigative authorities.”
The FBI redacted Ford's name and sent the letter to the White House to be included in Kavanaugh's background file, according to a Judiciary Committee aide. The White House sent it to the Senate Judiciary Committee, making it available to all senators.
Also, Ford is not refusing to testify:
Quote:

An email her lawyers sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee said Ford "would be prepared to testify next week" if the senators offer her "terms that are fair and which ensure her safety."
The message came a day ahead of a 10 a.m. Friday deadline set by Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa for Ford to decide whether she would appear before a hearing he set for Monday.
Testifying Monday, however, "is not possible and the Committee's insistence that it occur then is arbitrary in any event," Ford's lawyers wrote.
"As you are aware, she has been receiving death threats, which have been reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and she and her family have been forced out of their home," the email said. "She wishes to testify, provided that we can agree on terms that are fair and which ensure her safety."

Feinstein had the letter for WEEKS, IF she wanted an "investigation" they had time to do so, now Feinstein is crying about delaying everything when SHE held on to the letter. per your link Ford is the one who decided to come out now and wants things investigated FIRST, BEFORE she testifies? ha.
hope Kav gets the seat ASAP. this circus has gone on long enough.
