Vae. The issue isn't the timing of the """bombs""" it's whether or not they have any payload, I.E. truth in them.
Since the Republicans are playing the "we control everything" card to push Kavanaugh through, a little flash and dazzle is justified to fight Repub hypocrisy, especially if Kavanaugh's character isn't the squeaky clean Christian they are peddling. Inquiring minds want to know, at least the honest ones should.
But we can't know that without an investigation and there won't be one as long as the Repubs insist on their artificial deadline for appointment and simply refuse to seek the truth.

"More specifically, they need people manipulated into thinking thoughts like: "How can we allow this Judge to be confirmed without knowing whether he really is a gang rapist?...We must investigate first!"
Damned straight they must. Why do you have a problem with that?
Quote:
Step 2 - Use the constructed time window to provide additional unsubstantiated claims of sexual misconduct, in order to establish the illusion of a "pattern of behavior" (pending)
Because you KNOW that ALL the claims are false, therefore let's get on with installing Kavanaugh. And how do you know this?

"Guilty until proven innocent", is the song of mob rule, and the bane of civilization...and if one were to think that the "end justifies the means", they would be sadly mistaken."
Talk about appeal to emotions.
OMG, it's the end of civilisation if we don't blindly appoint Kavanaugh to the SCOTUS!!

The committee has interviewed two men who came forward about the disputed assault at a summer house party. Both told the committee they, not Kavanaugh, "had the encounter with Dr. Ford in 1982 that is the basis of his complaint," the release states.

Seems to me I recall someone saying something about "taking one for the team". Who was that?
BTW Dr. Ford is a her not a he. Could they not at least feel that much in the dark room?

Seems to me I recall someone saying something those who come forward should be heard.................. who was that?
so tocky, if the room was dark and they could not see it was a her, how could she recognize kav???
Tocky on 27/9/2018 at 14:41
Never said they shouldn't be heard. I'm all for it. YOU however DID dismiss Ford with the "taking one for the team" line. I don't know how dark the room was after she was pushed into it from a well lit hallway but your quoted statement says, "had the encounter with Dr. Ford in 1982 that is the basis of his complaint". HIS complaint? Seems as if they could at least get her sex correct.
The fact is you speak as if you know the facts when it's obvious with every post you know jack shit. Nobody here has acted as if they do except YOU. You want to paint it otherwise but it just is not so. WE don't know. Maybe you are correct but just as maybe you are wrong.
We do know Kavanagh lied about drinking and sex from just his yearbook quotes where he talks about being part of the keg team and also listing one girls name who he said he was a part of the being with her team. She was one of the 65 who took up for him till then. Not anymore once that was pointed out.

How do you know if he lied about sex, anybody come forward claim and they had sex with him?
looks like Ford blatantly lied about being able to fly............ nothing more than a delay tactic and no evidence turned over.
her statements are not consistent with the initial release
Quote:
“When I got to the small gathering, people were drinking beer in a small living room on the first floor of the house,” said Ford. “I drank one beer that evening. Brett and Mark were visibly drunk. Early in the evening, I went up a narrow set of stairs leading from the living room to a second floor to use the bathroom. When I got to the top of the stairs, I was pushed from behind into a bedroom. I couldn't see who pushed me. Brett and Mark came into the bedroom and locked the door behind them. There was music already playing in the bedroom. It was turned up louder by either Brett or Mark once we were in the room. I was pushed onto the bed and Brett got on top of me. He began running his hands over my body and grinding his hips into me. I yelled, hoping someone downstairs might hear me, and tried to get away from him, but his weight was heavy. Brett groped me and tried to take off my clothes. He had a hard time because he was so drunk, and because I was wearing a one-piece bathing suit under my clothes. I believed he was going to rape me. I tried to yell for help. When I did, Brett put his hand over my mouth to stop me from screaming. This was what terrified me the most, and has had the most lasting impact on my life. It was hard for me to breathe, and I thought that Brett was accidentally going to kill me. Both Brett and Mark were drunkenly laughing during the attack. They both seemed to be having a good time. Mark was urging Brett on, although at times he told Brett to stop. A couple of times I made eye contact with Mark and thought he might try to help me, but he did not.”
KAV IS PISSED.......watching live.

He just twisted some facts right then. He said that his presence at the party was refuted by a longtime friend of hers.
She just claimed she didn't remember.
He's crying now.
I like this:

The report at issue in this case assist law enforcement agencies in taking “proactive steps” to deter illegal activity and ensure national security. As the Government notes, law enforcement agencies use polygraphs to test the credibility of witnesses and criminal defendants. Those agencies also use polygraphs to “screen applicants for security clearances so that they may be deemed suitable for work in critical law enforcement, defense, and intelligence collection roles.” Declaration of Alesia Y. Williams, Defense Intelligence Agency, Chief of FOIA Services Section, at Joint Appendix 226. In Morley v. CIA, we stated: “Background investigations conducted to assess an applicant's qualification, such as ․ clearance and investigatory processes, inherently relate to law enforcement.” 508 F.3d 1108, 1128-29 (D.C.Cir.2007)
