I keep hearing the phrase 'the American people will want to know as much as they can about the situation'. Why? It's my understanding that Kavanaugh is the most unpopular nomination in 30 years and his disapproval rating is rather high but whatever the 'American people' want is of no importance, is it. It's not as if that will change anything.
It depends on what demographic you chose to define The American People as. Usually it's best described as "me, and people like me, but not you."

and the left would be correct to see Kav as a threat. repubs screwed up by letting the story grow the legs it has (pun intended), they choices now are
1. the hell with everything and nominate Kav < triggers blue wave
2. hope for the best and do the investigations < risk losing kav
3 scrap Kav and piss off evangelicals, < worse than blue wave as their own will eat them.
democrats have nothing to lose and everything to win.

I just hope none of the extreme right goes full retard and takes it out on the women from the stories..Thor knows some from the right are as crazy as the ISIS clowns.

At least I always try and make myself look pretty for you, JK. Take what you can get.
Here's my new take on the situation. Now that we're getting multiple stories, at least one of which has a police report to back it up, I'd say Kavanaugh had a slight history of being, you know, kinda handsy.
The problem isn't just that he did it. Almost everyone at some point has done some shit that hurt someone else, sometimes severely, that most people feel ashamed for later. I mean hell, it all happened during high school and college during the 80's. That shit was kinda standard and expected. The problem is that he never faced the consequences for these alleged actions, and if they did indeed happen, he's not showing the tiniest bit of remorse for them now. I think this, now that it's being exposed so many decades later, is what's hurting him the most.
If he said "yes, I did these things, and I'm sorry", he'd still get flak, especially considering it'd be a convenient pre-nomination confessional, stated under duress, but it'd be a bit harder to hang him on it.
Course you can't discount the fact he could be entirely innocent, but like I said, the more stories that keep coming in, the less likely that seems.

you KNOW I LOVE YOU just the way you are, there is no need for the make up, or the wigs or the high heel stilletto you wear into bed at night to be pretty

I still think they are ALL lying and willing to put themselves in danger for what may be the greater good. to a degree it is admirable as there are loonies out there willing to go full Jihad Chriatian style. I do feel a bit bad for kav & his family because no matter if he wins, this will stay with him AND his family for decades to come.

(
https://drive.google.com/file/d/104AMBLxu23epYT1hg7X6F0LGP8ruXlOj/view) Kavanaugh letter to the chair and ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee
Quote:
These are smears, pure and simple. And they debase our public discourse. But they are also a threat to any man or woman who wishes to serve our country. Such grotesque and obvious character assassination—if allowed to succeed—will dissuade competent and good people of all political persuasions from service.
As I told the Committee during my hearing, a federal judge must be independent, not swayed by public or political pressure. That is the kind of judge I will always be. I will not be intimidated into withdrawing from this process. The coordinated effort to destroy my good name will not drive me out. The vile threats of violence against my family will not drive me out. The last-minute character assassination will not succeed.
I think it's a good response, because it appears strong and sincere.
As long as Kavanaugh and the other Republicans can keep the manipulation in check, by keeping the emotional effect small and insubstantial, they will succeed with the confirmation.
This won't necessarily be easy, because the Dems will continue to drive up emotion and escalate the perceived "seriousness" of the fabricated "pattern of behavior", by demanding an investigation.

Thanks, Renz. I doubt it would matter in your country at the moment whether 100% of 100% of polls disapproved of Kavanaugh or anyone else, s/he'd be elected anyway.

what you are hearing depends on where you hear it from............... righties in the forums are PISSED :D
Any day of the week I can go to CNN or MSNBC or any other fake news site and hear real Republicans making real arguments that make me stop and think and sometimes cause me to adjust my thinking. You think I'd listen to the likes of you?

You might be able to say that one of these women are lying, but the more than come forward, the less likely it becomes that ALL of them are. If that filed complaint does exist, did the woman who filed it oh so many years ago do so because she didn't like Kavanaugh's politics, and she needed to provide some ammo to use against him in case he becomes a supreme court nominee at some distant point in the future?
jkcerda on 24/9/2018 at 19:29
IIRC it was JUST filed, not filed years ago, but since I am still considered a male (when are you paying for my operation?) I can be wrong, got a source for this years old accusation?
