Thirith, I'm
not trying to be correct. I'm having a bit of fun playing around with a few silly sentences
Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.

Take your example of: "Too many RPGs rely heavily on combat gameplay."
Instead, it should read: "In the case of an RPG, too many rely heavily on combat gameplay." -or- "Too often, an RPG relies heavily on combat gameplay." The plural is there, if only implied.
Regardless of grammatical necessity, that's also a very good tactic when one is unsure of the grammatical accuracy of what one first intended to write.

My most used approach :D Just reword it until it seems understandable. Especially as i don't have a clue what is the deal with the 10 kinds of "s". AFAIK one of thous signifies plurality or something - i think. Can't say that i know what that actually means though.
Never learned english (FF dictionary suggests "English". huh?). No books, no classes, no nothing - and not intending to - i don't like this language at all.
So, what would be your life without me? :P
( However, i do try to be as understandable as i can when i post. )
