Oh my god. They've done it. This takes all rights away. - by Outlooker

Yeah Gingerbread Man said it well what I was talking about, I didn't use the word 'insulated', I was searching for some better terms but couldn't find anything at the time. It's easy to arrive late at the party and say what's wrong, but maybe the reporters need to go one step further, or at least the community leaders needed to and realise that solving this situation means changing some core things that might be impossible now the communities are established in their new countries. It's not just conflict resolution or compromise, the immigrants and the country need to change the way their approach the assimilation problem from day 1.

I'd hate to attend a dinner party with Stronts
"Could you pass me the salt, please?"
"I'm sorry, what was that?"
"I said PASS ME THE SALT YOU FUCKING MORON"

Yes, because isolationism worked so very well in the inter-war years.
Edit: all right, I fully admit to being a European who was very thankful that the US got involved.
TheGreatGodPan on 26/10/2006 at 02:55
Isolationism hah. FDR was itching for a war. He knew the Japanese would retaliate, it was just a question of when and where.
Considering that they declared war on Germany due to the invasion of Poland, which still wasn't free after the war, it might have been a good idea for England to have stayed out too. France likely would have gotten screwed no over no matter what due to its lack of an ocean between it and Germany. Anyone who wanted to help out France should have volunteered themselves though rather than the whole country getting involved.

Classic TGGP.

Not quite classic, it's missing a link to one of those wacky blogs he likes so much.
Tonamel on 26/10/2006 at 07:15
You mean that one?
Chimpy Chompy on 26/10/2006 at 07:23
Er yeah just like that one.
I WAS STILL TECHNICALLY CORRECT

Except, bizarrely, they felt they had to honour a treaty they'd made. Those wacky foreign-relations guys!
And it's the United Kingdom, not England. I didn't go through 27 years of United Kingdomness just to be called English, thankyouverymuch.
