Right, but what the legal community's opinion of this bill, or at least the TTLG legal community's?
My sister is an attorney and she says the bill is pretty damned bad. She also told me about the testimony before Congress of a Senior Partner of one of the largest law firms in the country. Apparently he squared off pretty directly with a Congressman who was former Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court (which is something like being the tallest marsupial in the kangaroo court), and said that if this bill was passed, some future Congress would have to apologize for the actions of this one.

It's good to have people that you can consult...

I'm sorry oudeis. I did not mean to make it sound like I was snapping at you.

Puh! I read a lot of books about the nazi regime (scientific books as well) because I always wanted to understand how that system came into place in the frist place. I nver thought that I would be witness to it though. :(
Actually I already feared similar since several years now. If you look at the news here in Germany, then the tendency is pretty similar. Terrorism is used to frighten people and a lot of people already believe it is threat, even though there was not a single attack in many years (of course it will be claimed this is so because of the good anti-terror measures :( ).
I honestly don't understand why people voted for Bush a second time. It was bad enough the first time and a big step backward, but this is taking it to the extremes. And this is only the beginning ...
