It's been a while since I had to do this, I should have just made a backup from before the rebuild and dropped it into the new one.
I installed T2 and Tafferpatcher, but the game hangs ~20 seconds in and I have to restart via power switch. What have I forgotten to do, and are there any other major and/or cosmetic fixes I need to do?
my system info:
Windows XP 2002 SP3
Intel Core2 6600 @2.4GHz
2GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 2400, driver version 9.9

That sounds very much like the multi-core issue.

checked (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75031#hyperthread) the FAQ entry, that was it; I tried the "set affinity to one core" trick and it worked for a bit (I'll try the permanent fix soon), but started getting lines on the menu screens in buttons and objectives, then it crashed. any idea what causes that? I've been playing through Darkloader 4.3, if it makes a difference

If it isn't your drivers then these may help.
The drivers will certainly be the cause of the menu corruption and should be rolled back to 9.4. (There are oversize screenies in (

Even with 9.4 or earlier installed nickie is quite right that it is important to do the Thief install in the correct order. I should have mentioned it. :)
If you install Tafferpatcher first and use it to install Thief it does it in the right order. (Tafferpatcher installs ddfix and that will set the single core affinity.)
