Having done away with previous lore they have also done away with Garrett's back-story. With no Keeper training, what is he? Really, I don't see why bother calling the game Thief. If the only links to the old games they want are the main character's name, and the title on the box, then why even bother? Think of the aggravation and pessimism they could have saved themselves from if they had just made a self-proclaimed game inspired by Thief.

Quite a few great games have come out since the days of Ultima, Might and Magic, and Thief. It's almost tragic that you refuse to acknowledge them.

And... as always they are heavily involving the true fans in the outright development. :) Why cant "thief" do that? Oh yeah, because there is no Russell, Keepers, Pagans, or Hammers. lololol Mwahahahaaaaa :)

I dunno if you should be all that excited about that. Richard Garriot hasn't made a good Ultima since VII. :P

Sometimes getting an entirely new team to put an entirely new spin on an old series breathes life into it, and works in ways you'd never initially expect.
