I'm guessing a swiping hand is a big symbol for them. I suppose it makes sense. The guy that animated the hands probably gets the royal treatment too.

As far as box art goes, it's fine. Better then thief 3 IMO. Some pros and cons compared to thief 1 & 2.
Cons:
- The colour palatte of thief 4 (or lack thereof) doesn't really make for box art that leaps out and grabs your attention.
- I can't help but feeling that the general idea of Garrett's hand grabbing the thief logo feels is a little bit goofy.
Pros:
- Slight goofiness aside, I'm quite happy that a lot of thief 4 promotional material, including this box art, really emphasises that Garrett is a thief. Hence the focus on his hands rather then his bow and/or dagger. I think that in this aspect the promotional material is better for thief 4 then any of the earlier games.

I think it's good. Not great, but good. They've toned down the emo, hidden a lot of the goofy corset, and de-emphasized the weapons. There's absolutely nothing on the box to suggest the setting though...it's supposed to be Garrett AND the city as major characters, isn't it?
