I ran across it playing around with Google today. Started with Garrett cosplay and one thing led to another.:p Saw the term "Slave Garrett" and couldn't resist amusing myself by seeing what it turned up.

Feeling neutral about it. I mean, as good or bad as the box art is, it still doesn't change the fact that the game inside has me utterly disappointed.

I like the box art. Like Goldmoon Dawn said, they've really toned down the emo. They've obscured most of what bugs me about nuGarrett's appearance. Even the goofy bow that EM seems to be so proud of isn't very clearly seen.

Yeah honestly the packaging doesn't matter much. A turd in a nice box is still a turd.
The main issue I have, which also concerns the packaging, is how they presumptuously named the game "Thief", almost as a way of spitting in the face of the previous games in the franchise. Not

Thief: (insert explanatory subtitle), just
Thief. Like it's supposed to be the highlight of the franchise, the only game deserving of the title, like the others don't matter, and this is the real deal right here. Also a fine way of deceiving new players. I'm pretty sure a lot - or most of them - won't even know there were previous games unless they look it up.

What would you call it though? Thief 4 or even a Thief: xxxxx style title suggests a continuation of the series. They've made such a radical break that neither of those seems right.

Eh, I like it. I don't see what so many people are complaining about. You can't keep the past, I'm just grateful to have a new one to play. It might not be the same (that's what FM's are for...) but I adapt well to change. Maybe some of you should try embracing change? :angel:

If I had a say in the matter, it wouldn't even have
Thief in the title. The
least they could have done is add something to the current title, not just call it
Thief.
