Odd thing about my encumbrance. - by Ariakas

I know that earlier in the game when my inventory was empty my encumbrance would be 0, as in 0/450
last night I removed all items and put my entire inventory in a chest. My encumbrance stat showed that I was still encumbered 131/450, and all of my stats are normal
Anyone else noticed this?

Weird. No, I've never seen that. You didn't have a single thing on you?
I'm going round and round about this whole Encumberance thing. I'm buying a lot of Unarmored training, and I think if I go high enough on that, I might forego armor altogether, just to have more room in my inventory. I haven't noticed an appreciable difference between the Leather armor I started with and the Glass armor I have now. Of course, I still haven't found that Irodinal (sp?) armor. I'm babbling.
Anyway, to return to what you said, I've never heard of that before - the only thing I can think of is that someone you fought cast a Burden spell on you. Do you recall if this happened? If so, get thee to a shrine, or buy the proper potion.

Have you been overeating and not getting enough exercise? :)

I want a max encumberance of 450!! :)
Could it be that you accidentally had you inventory filtered when you were dropping your stuff? Or maybe you had an outstanding burden spell cast on you?

Did you take off your armor and weapons... or maybe you turned on one of the inv buttons that only show specific items... (eg. armor, weapons, misc)

The same thing happened to me.
I have a max encumbrance of 355 and i dropped all my stuff and my encumbrance is not 0 but 217. This means I can just wear my armor and a weapon and then I'm nearly overloaded.
I knew of two other persons where that happened.
The last time something strange occured was when I killed the Orkbarbarian near the Deadricruin (Ashunartes, Shrine). I examined the dead body but didn't take anything. Then I wanted to go back and report the quest as done and I got the message that I was overencumbered. My weight jumped up from 336 to 376 without taking nothing. I didn't dispose the corpse nor something else. My strength wasn't drained either.
Is it possible to reset the stats manually?
I guess it could happen through plugins which add items to the game. I had some of the added items on me when deinstalling the plugin. Maybe the stats of the stuff is not cleared out correctly?
When there is no solution to this problem, I guess that this will be the end for me. I don't want to start over again and than maybe getting the same bug.
Please, If anyone knows the solution, tell me
Thanks,
Twischta

Hrm... a few possibilities come to mind...
1) Were you using a 'feather' effect of some sort w/out realising it? (ie: a item/potion/etc)
2) Many enemies cast a 'burden' effect on you, which encumbers you; did this added encumbrance go away after a little while?
3) What's your strength? It's possible your encumbrance just got way over-inflated and the new, low number is the accurate one.
4) As Kilana said, is it possible you're using one of your inventory-based 'filter' buttons, and thus can't see the enormous load of random junk that you're carrying?

I noticed that my encumberance level was always just a little more than the amount of stuff I wanted to carry.
Like, when I had a low level there wasn't really all that much stuff I wanted to have with me and as I levelled up and got stronger I was carrying just a little more.
It always worked quite well until now when my strength is at 100 and won't go up. I constantly find myself needing to drop stuff off and continue on my way. :p

I am not bragging or anything but my encumberance is at 12,000 I love it.
