So I decided to bust out my Thief: DS disc, and it installs fine; and I can actually play the game just fine; but if I try to change any key bindings that are bound to a mouse button, the game crashes to the desktop. I can change things that are bound to the keyboard, no problem. Does it with the 1.0 version and after I installed the 1.1 patch. This problem does NOT happen on my other computer, which is also running Vista; both are Vista Ultimate X86. The second computer is a lot older and I don't want to play the game on that.
All of this boils down to: does anyone know where the hell key bindings are stored? They are NOT anywhere in the Thief: DS folder in Program Files. There's a DEFAULT.ini that has all the "default" key bindings, but changing them in there accomplishes nothing in-game. There is a User.ini that has virtually no information in it, certainly no key bindings. I am assuming it's in the registry somewhere (thanks devs....................) and if that is the case, does anyone know where, and how I can change key bindings through it?
The reason I know key bindings aren't stored in the installation folder anywhere is I copied the entire ~2.2GB folder from my other computer to this one, and the bindings I had successefully changed and saved and verified by reopening the game in, were not there. I know saving a game creates a new folder in C:\Users\%USER%\Documents\Thief:DS (the folder is not called that, but you get the idea) and they aren't in there, either.
Anyone have any ideas? I cannot play it with the default mouse bindings. :(
