Ok, so I installed the Steam version of Stalker and Stalker Complete 2009. Everything fine. New graphics card with up to date drivers. After a while of playing the game, I notice that the torch no longer switches on any more (this may or may not be relevant to the problem) and when I exited the game and came back, everything in all of my saves, and new game looks like this:

Not that anyone is checking this thread, but in case anyone does experience this, I sorted it by reverting to older drivers. Seems to be a GTX 460 + driver combo causing it.
