ok... see partial screen shot below...
it's a pic of my treasure chest... well the stuff that would fit into this chest...
i got more stashed in other containers... but this one is good for what i am
about to ask...
question... why are some contents seperated from their err.. 'friends'
eg.. there's 47 diamonds hanging out together... but then there's 2 being
anti-social and sitting off to the side...
i know sometimes it does that and if u pick up the outcast object and just
place it with the others.. it makes friends and becomes part of the group...
but there is a few items that don't..
u can see one emerald, one ruby, two pearls and one daedra's heart doing the same
thing..
i am worried about my treasures anti-social behaviour..
could dr.forsythe or dr.wingedkagouti please explain this?? (or anyone else who
knows)...
thanx...

The diamonds that won't merge has a script attached and thus aren't the same type of objects as the normal diamonds (or the even same type as the other diamonds with the same script). This is apparently done to keep script variables for each item with a script. You can also see the same behavoiur by going to Ghostgate, Tower of Dawn Lower level and barter with the armor merchant there. You should see a bunch of Indoril Helmets and Cuirasses that aren't stacked since those also have a script attached (it's what makes ordinators attack you if you wear it and speak with them). If items are stacked the game treats them as a single object with a certain amount, eg. if you put down a bundle of 1000 iron arrows you will only see one arrow lying on the floor but with a count of 1000 and if they had a script (if it was possible) they would all have the same script state.
The script in this case is "BILL_MarksDaedraSummon" which calls forth a Dremora Lord to punish you for stealing the offerings to that particular daedra, you're only missing Raw Ebony from the ingredients with that (or any other) script ;). Try typing "tfh" (without the quotes) in the console and do a mouseover, this shows which scripts are attached to items and who counts as their owner.

thanx WK...that makes sense...
hmm so the one emerald, one ruby, two pearls and one daedra's heart are probably what triggered the other dremora lords in whatever shrine i took them from...
so it's not always the diamonds..
cool that made perfect sense... i feel better now
thanx dr.wingedkagouti
ps do i get a lollipop like at the other doctors office... :cheeky:
