Just like many other I wonder if my system will run oblivion:
Cpu: AMD Athlon 64 3400+ (2400 mhz)
Ram: 2x512mb ddr pc3200 ram (400 mhz)
Os: Windows XP SP 2
Graphics: crusual :eww: radeon 9200se 128mb:eww: (soon x850xt 256mb)
I wonder also if someone has the x850xt and cas tell me if the card is good...
and if it will fit my cpu.

The 9200 wouldn't be able to run Ob at all, good thing you're changing your graphics card. And the x850xt is an excellent choice, very good performance while not too expensive ; that's what I'm planning to buy before the release of the game.
You're fine with the specs, Ob will run great.

I've ordered parts for a 3500+ with Venice core (going to overclock to 3800+).
I'm trying to get along with Radeon 9800XT 256mb, but most likely I will upgrade that to some 7800 when Oblivion gets to the shops. There will be 1024mb ram (dual channel), but I might upgrade to 2048mb if my budget is large enough.
I'm hoping to be able to run the game with all the candy on.

fig455 u dont have to be arrogant and shove it in my face that u have more money than i do. Thats extreemly rude u could have said that without being an asshole.
The reason for the low budget is im a 16 year old kid and have no job. This computer was purely a cristmas present.
Anyway ive ben using the computer for about a week now and it has excellent graphics but im on a wireless network and am having trouble running all my online games. Right now im trying to run world of warcraft, guildwars, and warcraft 3. They look good and can log in but in wow i cant click on npcs to get them to talk, guildwars loads up perfectly but i cant move, warcraft 3 i simply cant see games to join.
Im pretty shure these are port problems but i dont know whitch ones to open help would be apreciated.

I'd probably try posting a question on the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=-1&f=81) Technical and Troubleshooting Arena. You'd probably find more help there than here. I for one can say I've never really played any online games, so I'm not much help.
Merry Christmas Eve and such.

so I assume my comp would work then...
AMD Athlon 64 3700 (2.4Ghz)
1GB RAM
Geforce 5500 (Upgrading to a 6600 or 6800 soon)
so I think I should be fine especially since I am going to be upgrading my graphics card soon (and maybe another Gig of RAM)
Briareos H on 30/12/2005 at 00:17
To benefit fully from the nice effects and all, I'd recommend the 6800. Your config is perfectly OK.

Just a note for anyone buying new stuff: If you're planning on buying a new motherboard, I would go for one that supports PCI-Express (not AGP.) My mobo has AGP and I deeply regret it. Nvidia and Radeon both will not be making AGP cards after this year, so I have heard.

Heh. I got you covered, G (for your name, not in a black gangster way). Kind of. We aren't ignoring your thread, I just don't think most of us can help.
