Not sure how I got on this kick, but I recently fired up Oblivion and decided to do kind of an alternate replay. I dig Skyrim, but there's something about Oblivion that draws me in. That said though, I wasn't a big fan of Oblivion's main storyline, so for starters I'm using a mod that removes the main plot. It gets rid of all the Oblivion gates, and starts you just outside of Leyawin, as if you just arrived in Cyrodil off the boat.
Also, figured I wanted to shine up the game a bit too (but didn't want to go too mod crazy), so these graphical mods seem like a good place to start:
Qarl's Texture Pack 3
Unique Landscapes
Natural Environments
One of the primary things I want to do is play some of the Quest mods available, most of which I've never tried. Kind of like fan missions for Oblivion. Here's a few I'm loading up initially that look good:
Thieves Arsenal (gives you blackjack & water/gas/moss/vine arrows, + Basso giving you jobs)
Thievery in the Imperial City
The Lost Spires
Artefacts of the Ancestors
Dungeons of Ivellon
Tears of the Fiend
Dibella's Watch
Verona House Bloodlines
Glenvar Castle
Myths and Legends
There's some other mods that I'm tempted by, but it sounds like a huge hassle to get them all working together, so I'm kind of keeping them on the back burner for now, namely:
Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul
Martigen's Monster Mod
Fancesco's Leveled Creatures
Can anyone recommend any other good mods (especially quest mods) for a decent Oblivion replay? I'm not really up for adding hundreds of little mods that tweaks minor things here and there, I'm mainly interested in ones that have large sweeping effects or that add significant content.

If it is big - it will have problems with other mods. If they are good - then they have solutions. To say the obvious.
Just to tempt you more ... The "Oscuro" + "Fancesco" and (iirc) "Martigen" mods i have used before - and found to be the best mods i have ever had. Slightly painful at first to make them all work with all the other crap (which there was a ton of), but well worth it in the end.
Unfortunately - can not remember any of the "must-have" mods i used :/.
