To get back on topic :) the latest edition of PC Gamer magazine (UK) has a two page feature on ES IV, as well as a small gallery of screenshots on the accompanying free CD. The graphics look amazing, but I couldn't help but notice that the gameworld bore a strong resemblance to rural England, including a shot of a church interior with stained glass windows! I hope they keep those subtle "alien" touches which remind you that you're in a different world....anyone else have any thoughts on this?
You can see similar screenshots here:

I don't think it comes more "alien" than the Daedric relm of Oblivion! :D That's something to look forward to! ;)

Looks like they've discovered the bloom effect. I like that.
I have to admit, these are pretty nice screenshots. Great modeling, great artistry. Seems like a lot of polygons to put in an outdoors area, but I hope they'll make that scalable.
From a graphics side this game looks pretty nice so far. But that's just from a screenshots perspective. I'd have to play the game on a midrange pc to tell you where it gets the Tuco Stamp of Approval(tm).

Bloom is basically a shiny filter that's easy on computers but makes for some really great looking effects. It's in WoW and it's extremely heavy in Guild wars.

Have they said how the combat system in obvlivion will work? It better not blow like Morrowind and Daggerfall.

Bloom effect: a curious phenomenon which causes mass hysteria and uncontrollable salivating among young women when confronted with images of hot, young British actors :cheeky:
