Since almost everyone who wants Bloodmoon probably has the game by now, I just wanted to post... a poll on the subject, along with a question or two about your thoughts for the future. And I also want to know if anybody knows where I can download the full Half-Life 2 video from a non-subscription server... All I have now is a minute or two of video from IGN.
Anyways, just active the checkbox next to every statement you agree with. If you agree with the last statement, PM me with the server addy.
Er... anyways, just post any comments you think are relevant to Bloodmoon here. The poll will close within 30 days.

I want Bloodmoon, but it still hasn't been released in the UK yet...
Fileplanet has the whole load...you just have to wait a while. Or use KaZaa.

I was going to get annoyed at them for not releasing it here yet.... then I felt rather pleased as it dragged me into the shop and gave me the chance to notice the Lucasarts adventure game pack while I still had cash :)
So, does Bloodmoon actually fix up the main faults of the original game in the dialogue and characters or is it just more of the same?

No, it just puts Solstheim in the game and everything that comes with it. AFAIK, there are no additions to the game besides that, with the exception of the journal entry that informs the player how you can get to the damn island.

One of the (few) things which I found dissapointing in Bloodmoon was the mediocrity of the promised ice caves and tombs... Especially the ice caves. They were really too generic and common for their own good, filled with the exact same kind of loot, creatures, even tunnel structure almost every time. It really became a chore to clean them all out, and even the caves back on the mainland felt more thought out and unique.
What's really frustrating is the potential all these indoor areas had. Anyone who has played the excellent Thief FM "The Search for Crom's Blade" knows how immersive and epic an underground series of ice caves and tunnels can be. With MW's effects and engine, I was expecting even more realism and depth than anything the Dark engine could provide in such an environment... but I won't start comparing these two games (too late).
Otherwise, the expansion is really good... werewolves, snow, Nords, decent quests, the whole deal. But seeing as half of your time is spent exploring the island and poking your head into every hole in the ground, the indoor areas leave a bit to be desired.

The caves and "dungeons" in the first were disappointing too. I guess Bethesda doesn't think we're capable of handling a nice, huge Daggerfall-esque dungeon. My level 44 Barbarian needs a challenge, damnit, and I shouldn't have to resort to the editor to find one! (though I'm going to anyways)

Yeah, but at least the original game had excellent (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69078) architecture. This new Nord hut architecture is too plain for my tastes, and the colony is more-or-less just common architecture with a minimal amount of reskinning and new models.
One thing you have to appreciate, though, is the landscape. Although I was expecting quite a bit more from areas such as the Mortrag Glacier and Castle Karstaag when I first looked on that map, the terrain was pulled off well enough.

You MW fans are so odd.
Talking about a game's architexture... oh well...
I guess I just love gameplay, not bells and whistles.
Oh yeah, and in case someone mistakes that as a flame, Exile, you're a fag.
