Would it be wrong to post objects that were originally LGS objects but fixed in some manner? I fixed the armoire that has the mysteriously rotating trim piece at the top.

I have a question, sorry if It's a wrong topic to ask - are "Deep Cover" models safe to use in Thief FM making?

Since there are already many System Shock objects in Thief FMs (Deep Cover is similar) and nobody cared, I'd say: yes, you can use it.

I believe the DC objects were specifically released to us with the T2 Gold assets, with the intent being that we could use them.

I can't imagine this would be an issue. There are many modified LGS assets at the Repository, and we talked about this a few pages back, if I recall.

I remember the conversation :) but I thought the general consensus was to not post content from commercial games. If it's ok I wouldn't mind uploading the armoire but I would still give LGS credit for the object.

I reiterate:

I wouldn't think there are any issues with Deep Cover objects since they were released to TTLG for distribution. The thing to remember is that you should upload only objects that you have rights to, generally speaking that you yourself created or which the author released into the public domain. It isn't for things that you ripped from a game.
LGS objects were released specifically for our use. So on that count there should be no issue with their use in Thief fan missions. Further, a broken LGS object which you fixed to behave properly is a new object, derivative to be sure, but a new object based on one which LGS released for fan missions, and as the author of that new object you have the right to release it or not as you see fit. Attribute it as you have stated, a fixed version that you made of an LGS armoire.

Yes, that's how I see it also.

I've just added LGS to the _Artists category to make it simple to give proper credit. I recommend the post title be of the form Improved [object] by [your name] with LGS as one of the categories. If you want to put LGS in the title, that's also fine, but the new category should definitely be used so people can use it to search by.
