No pressure. MGS5 alone's a good 40-50 hours of SNAAAAAAKEEEEE!!! so you'd best put on your skintight sneaking suit and repeatedly grab people from behind stat.

I'll be doing just that after I never asked for this.

I was playing this in Big Picture mode last night on my 55" Samung - completely gorgeous. Now if only the Steam Controller didn't suck so bad. Think I'm just going to give up on it and hook up a standard KB/mouse.

You too? I swear you people are ragging on the SC just to piss me off.

Some people just aren't good at the SC. Shame such a game-changing device is so polarizing. Hard to break 20+ years of doing it one way. I do wish it didn't feel so cheap though.
It's getting to the point that I think we should pair off, and have a West Side Story type throwdown.

No no.
That's only like 50% of the reason. ;)

I never actually played Riven way back when it seemed like reception was split, did time change people's opinion? Is it worth a go?
Reception was split? What the hell. Riven was fantastic.

One of the whole points of gamepads is to keep things simple - plug and play, you're away playing. If you have to stuff around for couple hours setting it up for every new game, trying to find the sweet spot for games to control well with it, then it's a fucking failure.

It was like learning analog sticks back when the N64 first came out. I didn't immediately acclimate myself to it. In fact, for that first week, I couldn't help but think how much more fun Mario 64 would be if only I could use the damn d-pad. Hell, I was about the same thing when I first got my Nintendo. If only I had a joystick, like with my Atari...
Now we all use d-pads and analog sticks like they ain't no thangs.
The SC is in that same boat. When you first use it, it feels spastic. Spend some time with it, and it becomes second nature. Since about 90% of the games out now support a combination of XInput and mouse controls, the most tweaking I have to do is about a minute or so of light sensitivity adjustment, and I'm off to the races.
But anyway, this is an argument better held in my Steam Diaries thread. I wanna hear more about Obduction!
