Dunno about the game, but I love the claymation look UE4 gives everything. It looks so neat to me.

My hopes aren't high. Good on Robyn Miller for knowing when to quit Cyan. They've output nothing but garbage since then. Long live Myst and Riven.

Don't be too sure. Initial reviews are good. And Robyn Miller signed on a while back to do the soundtrack (and some acting). I for one am glad they're sticking with the style of game they're known for, but in a different non-Myst universe. That should hopefully freshen things up a bit.

Not sure if I'd call it Claymation but the character do remind me a bit of The Dream Machine

It's not claymation, but it's...claymationish. I don't have a better way to describe it.
It's that soft look you get from small sets lit by large studio lighting look that makes everything stand out in a way that isn't quite realistic, but is still really nice. It's almost like UE4 was designed to produce that look as a default.

Claymation? Oh, you mean the vague feeling of everything looking like it's been constructed from play-doh. Well, while the PBR/materials in Obduction are certainly tuned towards giving off that sort of feeling, it's all bloody gorgeous. It's like walking around in Riven, only in real time. Alien vistas, esoteric machinery, obscenely detailed texturework, and a haunting sense of loneliness to it all. Plus I spent the first 40 minutes wondering where the first puzzle was.
It may be odd to some of you if the first word that comes to mind for something as foreign as all of the above is 'homey', but this game evokes exactly the sort of feeling I had from playing Riven (and to some extent, Myst V) back in the day. It really does feel like coming home.

Good. Though I only played Myst up to Riven, I'd love to have something modern that evokes that old style.

The teaser trailer does a slightly better job of amping up the game than the launch trailer up there, by the way.

Robyn came back to do the music for Obduction. That's one of the songs from his Ambo project on the video.

Okay, I'm sold.
I'd rush out and get it right now, but considering the fact that I still haven't beaten Manky, MGSV, Megaman Legacy Collection, Shadowrun: Hong Kong, or Broken Sword 2, 3, 4, 5 yet, and I've still got one of the DSIII expansions, and Dishonored 2 to look forward to...
...I'll pick it up during the Steam Christmas sale.
