(edit) How the hell did it get better? Compared to the 90s when everybody was obsessed with being politically correct, stereotypes are more tolerated now than ever. I haven't heard about anyone driving around with a noose hanging from their truck in the 90s, either. Arizona is actively trying to drive out undocumented aliens, and the feds are harassing businesses to sniff them out, too. It's funny how you seem to have a knack for seeing the exact opposite of what I see.
Also, you might want to dig up some articles about volunteers working for the Obama camp being harassed by fellow Democrats and being called racial epithets, which is where my comment in question came from. Also, I'm not one of those overzealous Obama-supporters. I'm just disgusted that ethnicity is more of an issue for so many people, when it's policies that should matter.
(edit) I don't think you spent a day on the receiving end of it to see the kind of sneaky racism that has been on the rise lately. If you're suggesting we're getting better because we don't see armies of robed men marching down streets in broad daylight any more, you're just being desperate to come up with anything.

Anyway, when I commented that racism was getting better I was extending my scope of history well beyond when Nirvana was popular. Admittedly, we've still got a long way to go.
