Ha, well played.
To be clear-
The point is that while McNasty supposedly said his bit it was done so maliciously, in a fit of anger and in relative privacy to boot.
Obama's wife said her bit during an introduction on live television, using the term in question as the clear opener of said introduction. This was obviously not used in any disparaging way.
As embarrassing as it is on both accounts it was not that big of a deal when she did it, nor should it be when some misguided caption lackey follows suit.
I know har har Fox Newz da ebil, but surely one shoudn't jump to conclusions about every little mishap.
Edit: Just to be perfectly clear I can't stand McCain, nor do I condone any of his wacky tirades.

Oh jesus christ people "baby's daddy" and "baby's momma" are not offensive.
Or more to the point, they're about as offensive as "sweetie" (i.e.: not)

YES they are.
It's pejorative when used in reference to Obama and his wife Michelle.
It implies that Obama had his children out of wedlock and furthermore, does not support them.
It paints Michelle Obama as a single "welfare" mother with questionable values.
These statements serve a subtle racist agenda. Obama's detractors want to paint him as an outsider. Someone who is "not like us" (Read: White America), doesn't share our values, participates in deviant behaviors and customs.
They want to sway those undecided white voters away from Obama. For some of these voters, all it will take is a single "negative" incident or statement to throw them comfortably in McCain's corner. Any hint that Obama is radical in any way means game over.
I shit you not, there are some white people that believe if Obama is elected, then he is going to run crazy and put whites in interment camps. They really think that "payback time" is a cornerstone of his policy.

This was a lot of Hillary Clinton's base from Kentucky, West Virginia, rural PA.

No, offensive is if I called everyone who gets offended by "baby's daddy" a giant fucking pussy. See the difference?
I don't really give a shit about what Hillary's rural southern supporters fall for. It's time to stop looking for a way to twist every comment into something sinister. That's Hillary's game and it's bullshit.
edit: my baby's daddy is a white dude by the way I hope that's ok

OK. True, its certainly not the most vile thing that can be said about someone.
No one with any self confidence would lose their cool over those remarks.
However, it should be called out that they are not appropriate because of negative connotations they carry about a person's character.
The people who used it probably didn't understand its deeper meaning and figured it was just a term that "black folks use."
In this case they need to be schooled that in this case, the slang is NOT acceptable.
(

And BTW, the fact that they may not have grasped its true definition does not get them off the hook. They deliberately used the term cause it was ostensibly part of the black vernacular, and thus served as a further way to promote Obama's "blackness" over his "Americaness". Again, part of the right wing
he's not one of us strategy.

Urban dictionary also states that one of the definitions of "sweetie" is "bitch"

If so, then where was the outrage when Michelle Obama introduced her husband on international television with this very term?

She did this? Not very smart, IMHO. From this point forward any use of "ghetto" black slang, black customs, gestures, ANYTHING -- should be discouraged by the Obama campaign.
He MUST be seen as the safe, neutral black guy or he doesn't get elected.

So what you're saying is that we're not ready to elect a black president unless he acts as white as possible?
I don't believe you.
