Obama FAILS to deliver Olympics to Chicago, HUMILIATED in critical leadership test - by oudeis

I think it means different things for different cities. I remember when I lived in Seoul, so many years after their Olympics they still talked about it as one of the most important things that's happened to the city and the country. They took a real pride in it like this shows we're really a serious country now (my students talked about it like that, anyway). I think Beijing was important for China, a kind of signal of legitimacy, more than the city itself. But yeah, Atlanta and L.A., I can imagine they wouldn't be as affected and it's certainly not going to change the impression of the US.

Unbelievable fuckwittery
Get the fuck out of my thread you stupid cunt, you know even less about Chicago than you do about anything else you've ever posted about here, and I wouldn't have thought that possible until now.
And no, I'm not even slightly kidding.

Tell me why I shouldn't hate the idea of living in Chicago. And no, I don't know much about it. However, what little I have heard from people who've lived there has been anything but positive. In my opinion, it sounds like somebody's a little too defensive about their town.
If you can't do that, go shove a jellyfish up your ass.

Agreed. I lived in upstate NY growing up, and Lake Placid is STILL a destination - thanks to the Miracle on Ice.
Lake Placid: singularly most politically important sporting event since Jesse Owens.
Atlanta? Had
Paul Blart - Mall Cop, Richard Jewell - Olympic Security Guard and a bunch of fat rednecks on their Hoverounds.
Yet another reason Atlanta sucks ass.

President Hathaway would have done it.
He's a brave President.

Of course, there's the little detail that the Olympics would have (
http://www.slate.com/id/2231173/) cost Chicago a bunch of money it didn't have.
Honestly, I don't understand why Obama took time out of his busy schedule to campaign for these things. Hostings the Olympics is for when you have money to burn, and last I checked, pretty much no where in the USA did.

they went to enormous lengths to put on the Olympics, but after all is said and done you'd be hard pressed to spot any real impact.
That's because Atlanta is the equivalent of a mom and pop BBQ Pit without a liquor license. If I lived in Little Rock for 15 years and recognize what an utter cesspool Atlanta is compared to Chicago, I don't think I can help you. Also, when your state boasts a city like Stone Mountain, you pretty much don't get to criticize anyone else. KKK ftw, am i rite.
Also, yeah, pretty sure this Obama guy is done after this huge cock-up. Oh well, he had a good nine month run. :erg:
