Obama FAILS to deliver Olympics to Chicago, HUMILIATED in critical leadership test - by oudeis

NOTMy purpose in posting this is twofold: first, as a native Chicago(area)an,
FUCK!!!  ; second, to spew some more venom at the conservative fuckwits in my country, and to aim some at the left as well.
I shouldn't be surprised by this, but some people are actually portraying the IOC's decision to award the 2016 Summer Olympics to Rio de Janeiro exactly in the way of the thread title. Obviously (
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/elections/2009/10/02/obama-heads-denmark-lobby-olympics/) Fux Newts was going to spin this against Obama- shit, the only reason I went to the site was to see what the cunts were going to say after Chicago was eliminated in the first round- but even moderate and left-leaning pundits are either calling it (
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33144810/ns/politics-white_house/) a defeat or trying to spin in so that it was actually a good thing for Obama to 'lose' this battle, for several stupid reasons that I won't even bother to list here
BECAUSE HE DIDN'T FUCKING FAIL YOU INBRED COCKSUCKS.
First off, I think the IOC's decision was in large part payback for America's misdeeds over the past eight years, including detonating the world economy about a year ago. No one will ever convince me otherwise, so don't try. I really can't blame them for carrying a grudge. I'm still carrying one and I'm American. Second, the USOC stepped on a lot of toes with their attempt to create their own TV channel, and Eurocrats are an especially petty breed of bureaucrat. The analyses I've read about the decision were absolutely certain that this came into play. Third, and most important, when the President of Brazil declared that it was time for the IOC to right an injustice and give South America it's first Olympiad that pretty much sealed the deal by itself. How can you argue with that? Chicago did well and would have put on a Kick-ass Games but it wasn't to be.
Wanna know what a humiliating Presidential failure was? Bush being handed his hat by his close personal friends the Saudi royal family when he went there to ask them to increase oil production at the peak of the gas price crisis early in 2008. "Sorry, George, and don't forget to sign our guestbook on your way out."
Obama didn't fail. His presentation was very well received and he used the occasion to again emphasize that the US was under new management and was eager to work with the world again. Unfortunately, now that he has 'stumbled' and 'wasted 1.2 MILLION of THE TAXPAYERS dollars', every shit-for-brains wanna-be demagogue from below the Mason-Dixon line thinks he has shown that he's weak and are going to be lining up to take him on. :nono:

wait sorry are we still paying attention to republicans? has some new reason to do so arisen in the last few months? (aside from tom campbell <3)
I think they're still pissed about the salt lake city scandal and to be honest, olympics in rio sounds like the rockinest party ever

I really think it's a testament to how well Brazil has developed. The Olympic pick is such a symbolic thing, and it sends such a strong message to a lot of countries on the borders of being developed that good governance (in the economic sense) gets noticed and rewarded -- China, Brazil, India, Philipines, South Africa -- plus being the first for South America and the message that sends. It means so much more to them than it ever could to us and serves as such a strong message and example.
I don't think it was so much a snub to Chicago or America and to think so is frankly a little self-centered thinking, like the people that still think Reagan was "responsible" for the collapse of Communism. (That said, I do think the rejection of the New York bid for 2012 was pretty much a snub.)

I don't think it was a snub to Chicago, but the USOC's aborted TV venture definitely annoyed a lot of people.

so lord bama wasted taxmoney in a shameless and desperate bid to bring one of those most unviable olympian sites to reality in order to help pay off and give underhanded deals to his unionists and cronies in the area, lol
nobodys blaming him for losing the chicago bid pretty sure its chicagos fault for being a fucking third world country in the middle of the united states with a crime rate rivalling that of Rio. lol pretty sure the olympians just dont want to come back to their busses ravaged and up on blocks
its fucking hilarious to see Obama fail miserably after taking Air Force One over to Denmark to shill for the Olympics so all his buddies in development and real estate could take a windfall. He thinks everything he does is golden, wasting time on stupid shit while the country burns
oh but of course FUX NEWWWWWWWWS CONSERVATIVES MORE LIKE KKKONSERVATIIIIIVES BAWWWWWW

Me, I couldn't care less about the Obama aspect of it.
I'm just glad because I hate Chicago, its as the above poster put it "a fucking third world city in the middle of America". It is and always has been one of the nastiest, most corrupt cities in America, and arguably the most corrupt of the big cities. Thats not just hearsay off the internet: my Mother lived there and in New York while growing up, and I have two classmates who are from Chicago. Their descriptions agree with the portrayal of it as a crime-ridden hellhole.
Besides, I think that the whole Olympics thing is overblown. Here in Atlanta they thought that hosting the Olympics would somehow make Atlanta a huge international city on-par with London, New York, and Paris. They sunk millions of dollars into projects for the Olympics, and after the fact had nothing to show for it except a massive red budget. It also had no long-term impact on Atlanta's economy, as the business boom that had started earlier continued at a rate similiar to that experienced by other southern cities. Same deal with Beijing: they went to enormous lengths to put on the Olympics, but after all is said and done you'd be hard pressed to spot any real impact.
Besides, why would you give it to the
(
http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2009/02/most-miserable-city-chicagos-third.html) third most miserable city in America?
