"You've had your eye on Basso the Boxman's sister for a while now. If you break him out of Cragscleft, she'll probably be VERY grateful. "
That's it.
It's an objective and it's not subtle. Rescuing Basso means Basso's sister preaches the tenets.
etc etc

I actually like the idea of the brothel. I really enjoyed the T2X brothel mission.

You just want to see some boobies.

I agree with Dia. There is a lot of Thief missing from this game. By taking the Keeper Library and turning it into a brothel, EM has taken away the library. EM seems to want to use as little as possible from the previous Thief games. By the time the game comes out, I think that almost everything Thief (from earlier games) won't be there. If almost nothing from Thief games will be there, EM will (imo) be showing even more disrespect to the franchise and fans.

So before I start, I know most of you are aware but to clarify - the story of Eidos-Montreal's Thief is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the narrative of the classic Thief games ... Keep in mind, again, that this is an alternative storyline, not a continuation or re-telling - but anybody familiar with the classic Thief games will still definitely recognize much in the universe.
Yes, it has been clear that NuThief is not a game set in the THIEF Universe...only one that has cherry-picked elements, in order to somehow justify the use of the IP that EM has in its possession...We've seen only disgraceful irreverence from EM, resulting in:
- Compromised player control mechanics.
- A lower fidelity stealth system.
- A superhuman Garrett with a different personality.
- The rejection of Stephen Russell as the voice of Garrett, Benny, and other past and future characters.
- The irresponsibility as current stewards of the THIEF franchise, to congruently maintain and expand the much beloved THIEF Universe...in effect, resulting in bank-rolled fan fiction.
- Forced 3rd-person, QTE's, Rope Arrow anchor points, etc.
The narrative will be affected by certain design decisions that are left in and left out...and given the prose we've seen so far, it doesn't look promising.

So what should happen to the Library?
And isn't this including as much as possible in a reboot?
Respect? What? Ha ha.

Um, Basso wanted to marry Jenivere, not just pork her. It's not remotely the same thing.
Yo the reality of human sexuality called, said you should pay it more attention.

b1skit's response and the thread overall is about the
storyline of New Thief. Air out your laundry elsewhere. Not that I'm a fan of most of Eidos' design decisions, but your negativity is just getting to the point of being obnoxious.

The narrative occurs at a later point in history seen before in the Thief franchise - this story occurs in a somewhat more modern, pre-industrial/Victorian time.
I was under the impression that Thief isn't set on earth but a fictional place that is similar? Is it right to call it Victorian then? Do you mean akin to Victorian rather than actually Victorian. I wasn't sure if technology actually progressed in a steady way in this universe before (rather than sporadic like the metal age).
