Then don't post about it? How about playing a game you like, hmmm?

We barely know anything about the story yet. All we know is that it initially features the Baron and the graven, and later involves other elements, with hints that the "other elements" are more mystical and have something to do with Garrett's past.
And yes, on a related note, we also know that most of the prose released as marketing material has been terrible.

What a joke. But hardly surprising considering the trainwreck this has become.
So we can probably expect Jenivere to indeed be Basso's bird.

What do you mean? We do know that already.

The bird thing will almost certainly get the "died of plague, named in her memory" explanation now since even if Eidos didn't plan to go down that logical route the fact people keep complaining about it will make them put that detail in.
Keepers, according to one of the players (yes I'm aware they're flawed and all but I'm willing to assume what they say is true, just that how they dress it and portray it is false) are in, and the House of Blossoms isn't merely made to look like a keeper compound as a throwback, it IS a Keeper compound - the same one from Thief 2 and 3. How that works with a reboot I have no idea.
Still annoyed by no mention of them raising Garrett or Hammers/Pagans though.

THE Keeper compound?!
Wot?
We'll have to do some comparison with TDS then!

* Guards mentioned burricks in their banter, referring to their situation as being "stuck in a burrick hole." The Crippled Burrick Pub is also in the game. The physical burricks are not physically present in the game as pointed out Daniel Windfeld Schmidt, but they weren't in Thief 2 and DS either so it shouldn't be a big deal.
* The House of Blossoms is built in the old Keeper Library. I asked Emanuel Garcia (lead artist) about it, and he said they went back and looked at the layout and architecture to reproduce it then slapped the brothel's decorations over the top to make it look like it was moved into. Not to mention there are secret glyph doors in it. Where the Keepers are is unknown at this time, but they definitely were a part of the lore of this reboot. Which brings me to:
* Glyphs are in the game, and we already confirmed that back in March. Heck, you can see them in(
http://d1vr6n66ssr06c.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/2K13-Apr-4-Thief-Screenshot-009.jpg) this screenshot.
* They rebuilt the City's layout from information in the previous games. They even have a master map of the City in their office that is built from stuff pieced together in Thief 1, 2, and 3.
This is the same world. Some things have been tweaked around given its nature as a reboot, but it's still the City and it's still definitely Thief. I anticipate we'll see signs of the Pagans and Hammers as well as time goes on, but in terms of story the old factions are not the focus so don't assume they will be in the spotlight. The conflict between the Baron's Watch and the Graven are central to the story, and those are the factions that will be front and center.
Those in the community that have been claiming the lore is gone are just flat out wrong and some of the complaining about stuff has been an exercise int he lack of the fanbase' imagination. Example:
"Basso's wife is now a bird!"
5 seconds of imagination: Jenivere died of the plague that is infecting the City, and in his grief and craving for companionship he adopted a magpie and named it after his late wife.
That's not the official backstory but it certainly would make sense, wouldn't it? Oh, and Basso's back. Instead of knee jerk complaining the community might have more fun speculating with given information on the lore
Keeper compound: the second item on the list. The fourth item is encouraging, as well.
Edited to add:
I also remember reading that the time has moved on significantly, and the old factions have been crumbled or stuff. Can't find the source atm, tho. :/

And there were lots of complaints at their absence, so why shouldn't there be continued complaints at their continued absence ?
I keep hearing statements like "This compromise were making shouldn't be a big deal for the players", "Discarding/rewriting the canon shouldn't be a big deal for the players", "The switch to contextual movement shouldn't be a big deal for the players", "Forced 3P & QTE events are minimal and shouldn't be a big deal for the players", "Play it and you'll see it's not so bad"
Sorry, but they are big deals to me, to play it I'd have to buy it and I don't buy things with the promise that it won't be as bad as I thought, I buy things because they are excellent and meet or exceed my desires.
I seriously hope this game is a success for EM but as it stands I'm not interested in playing it, I'm keeping up with the updates as there is a faint flame of hope still burning but nothing I've seen to date is fanning that flame.
