NPC behavior not right... - by Morchaiel

Hi, I own the Morrowind GOTY edition and I have a slight problem. Sometimes I read stuff about getting an NPC to attack you by taunting and intimidating. I can't get them to do that. The disposition of the NPCs goes down to zero, and when I keep taunting and intimidating the only tell me to get lost or that I'm pathetic.. I want them to attack me!! Does anyone know where this problem originates? Thanks in advance!

Your speechcraft is probably too low. Train it to like 20 or something. What I do is bribe them up to 60 and then taunt them to 40 then bribe again because it is easiest to use speechcraft then their disposition is close to 50 and you get your money back off their body once you've killed them.

I feel your pain. When I played in Morrowind, all the NPCs tried to bribe me away, so that I wouldn't pillage their village. All the mobs ran on sight from me. Hell, when I
went to see the endboss, he just went and hammered that heart himself so that I didn't beat his ass....

Alternately, if your speechcraft is really low, get your hands on a spell/scroll/enchanted item with the "frenzy humanoid" effect. You can cast it on NPCs and it doesn't count as an attack. If the spell effect level is high enough they will become enraged and attack you.
