Justin1001 You are a fucking idiot. Let me qualify that. An uneducated, unobservant, uncomprending, idiot. I doubt if you know your countries history, good and bad, the concepts in the constitution, and the reasons this (screwed up sometimes), country is still around.
If you find it so uncomfortable here, go someplace else. I suggest one of those countries in OPEC. Ooops. You probably don't know what OPEC means, so let's add a few other than OPEC say, Afghanistan, Pakistan, or even Malaysia. Places where you can be as "free" as you want with all the personal rights guarantees you are entitled to.

It's be shown on SO many occasions that Iraq had NOTHING to do with Al Qaeda.Get your information from somewhere other than Fox News and shut up.
That's a bit misleading given justin's comment, since not all terrorists are affiliated with Al Qaeda. It is a (
http://www.cfr.org/publication/7702/) fact that Iraq (under Saddam's rule) had ties to several distinct, albeit mostly secular terrorist groups.

First of all, we didn't go to war against a country. We went to war against terrorists and a government that supported and sponsored terrorism.
From the (
http://www.askoxford.com/concise_oed/warx?view=uk) Compact Oxford English Dictionary of Current English
war
• noun 1 a state of armed conflict between different nations, states, or armed groups. 2 a sustained contest between rivals or campaign against something undesirable: a war on drugs.
• verb (warred, warring) engage in a war.
(
http://darkoysm.wordpress.com/2008/02/10/the-history-of-us-military-attacks-on-other-nations-part-ii-since-1945/) List of countries you
didn't conduct acts of war against since 1945
terrorist
• noun a person who uses violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.
— DERIVATIVES terrorism noun.
(
http://johnmccarthy90066.tripod.com/id392.html) List of other interventions/acts of terrorism undertaken by your country not mentioned in previous list.
For the record.
1. I cannot vouch for the validity of the sources. A bit of googling this morning. However, at university I did do a seminar concerning list one and I did do a great deal of research at the time.
2. List 2. I could no doubt find a similar list for the UK and MI6. And I do know that the British SAS were heavily involved in training the (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khmer_Rouge) Khmer Rouge for which we should be thoroughly ashamed.
3. This is not an anti-US fact finding mission. Just an attempt to disabuse you of the notion that you can take the moral high ground.
4. Think I'm pretty much with Voltaire (Hall) on this one so will defend both flag burning and your right to say what you think.

I'm sure he probably did but I was getting at the Al Qaeda angle because I would bet my bottom dollar on Justing having the opinion that all terrorists are members of Al Qaeda, they are all arabs and they all want to put jihad on everyone who loves freedom. Which is exactly the story that Bush et al force-fed people to get them to approve the war in Iraq which, as a marine, he is currently a part of.
And as I was trying to show with those links, none of that is remotely true.

Civilisation is the restriction of personal freedoms.

(
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iiNo8In2FguQeKvOzx4O62OIm1mgD8UQHUV85) ZOMG! More freedom taken away!
Oh, and paranoid militants don't make me feel any more secure about my future. I'd rather stand in the presence of an angry flag-burner I disagree with than someone willing to murder the flag-burner for having strong feelings he disagrees with.
Now HERE's an ignorant question: Weren't the terrorists attacking the U.S. because we were encroaching on and threatening what they consider their freedoms, their religion, their chosen way of life, etc?
Now, a marine has to follow the commander-in-chief's orders, so...come on, he's just doing his duty--which includes swallowing lies and, apparently, thinking that "commie" is a universal term for anybody with what he thinks is an "anti-American" view. Being ashamed for for the actions of our leaders, disgusted, horrified at the opening of this can of worms, this potential Pandora's box, the agitating of the hornets' nest, is not anti-American.
