Wrong. Conquest is conquering another nation, killing all the people, and claiming their land. We aren't doing that. We are letting them keep their lives, their land, and their property. We're not making them become American citizens. We're not making them pay taxes to us. We're simply helping them establish a free democracy in place of a corrupt, murderous totalitarian regime that ruled by fear and intimidation. They even get to keep their oil!
Of course we're exporting democracy! We have plenty of it to share. And we're not asking for anything in return except to stop breeding and funding terrorists.
"Thieves respect property. They merely wish the property to become their property that they may more perfectly respect it."

Justin your flag-waving is hilarious.
You do realise that "America" doesn't GIVE you any freedom? In fact it only takes it away because you see humans are inherently "free". That's the problem. You are born free and "America" then detracts from that freedom by slapping laws on top of you. Whether you agree with those laws or not you still have to abide by them and thus you are not "free" are you? See the problem? See what a pointless and empty notion the term "freedom" is nowadays?
"Freedom" is a vacuous little buzzword that George W. barfs up in your face whenever he wants to convince you that killing people is OK.
I seriously can't beleive that some people still believe that their "country" is infallible and "glorious" and "free". No country is any of those terms and in the eyes of the Middle East the West is just as evil and threatening as "the terrorists" are to you.
Terrorists hate your glorious, free country Justin!!! Run for cover!! They hate freedom! Well perhaps they would reserve a slot on their agenda to attack OTHER countries too? You know, the ones who are free as well? Like... most of Europe? New Zealand? Canada? Those places? No? Hmm... not much suicide bombing going on there. Oh wait...no...they only seem to be attacking the countries that are bombing them and trying to force them down roads that may be completely against their own cultural beliefs. That obviously makes no sense.
These people aren't mentally deranged for Christ's sake. They aren't all extremists and they aren't all fanatics. They just feel the same way YOU would feel if the Iranian prime minister came over to America and tried to tell YOU how to live YOUR life.

I'm telling you, these people are a bunch of communists. They would like to see our treasured way of life destroyed and replaced with a socialist society which doesn't value human life or personal property. They are getting their way, slowly, through the so-called Democratic Party, which in the past 40 years has been all but taken over by militant feminazis, marxists, environmental extremists, and every other anti-freedom, anti-capitalist wacko movement out there.

To be honest D'Juhn after reading my rather lengthy reply in the previous post I wish I'd just said that! :laff:

When you guys are done here the rest of the Comrades are getting high and having a Sodomy Fest in the compound, while we wait for the organic vegetable stew to cook by the fire of treasured nationalist symbols - and endangered hardwoods.

While I want to agree, it's not so much a case of the US being relatively strict, rather that the US has some of the most bass-ackwards wording in the laws.
United States law starts off of absolutes. You are free to say ANYTHING you want. You CAN own guns. You WON'T be unreasonably searched. But then, as you grow deeper, you run into contradictions. There are limits to free speech. You can't always (or sometimes, ever) own guns. You could get searched, because all the policeman needs to say is that you were acting funny.
The laws of many European countries start with these concessions, and then build upon them. United States law is just... strange.
But yes, the overall ridiculous patriotic trend of 'LET'S GO BRING FREE-E-E-E-E-DUM TO THE PPLZ', based upon the premise that the US system is the
right one, is insane. I mean, come on, it's blatantly obvious that there are big holes in the United States political system. It's completely unreasonable to force your views on others when they want nothing to do with you.
I'm quite fond of Yahtzee's succinct phrasing, when he reviewed Medal of Honor: Airborne- 'So why does the US have such a fascination about a time that everyone else would rather just forget about and move on? Well, probably because that was the last war in which they did any good, where they had a clear win over an unambiguously evil villain who posed a genuine threat, rather than any of these wishy-washy recent wars where they just run in, stomp all over a developing nation, and run out again declaring victory around the time the population has to start eating their own dead.'
