I signed on with T-Mobile - I read a 40 page white paper on cell phone industry practices, which I can find the link to if anyone wants it (I think - I can't remember exactly where I found it). In short, Verizon - while having excellent service - has the worst practices (that is, screws over people the most). T-Mobile has the best. Everyone else is in the middle. But Cingular has the worst customer satisfaction.
Anyway, yeah - through a combination of sales and rebates I got my very nice phone free, and I am going to get on an insurance plan that covers loss.
