Okay, I finally beat the game (Killed Dagoth Ur, spoke to Azura), and -nothing happpened- except that now people stutter when they talk to me and people call me the Neverine. I read somewhere that after you kill Dagoth Ur you get some new quests like stuff the Archmage tells you to do and more writs for buff people for the Morag Tong? None of that was opened up for me... I was Exhalted Master in the Morag Tong and am not able to get any more writs. I already turned in all of the Sanguine items, too. Also, how do I get my rank up any higher in Ashlanders or the Blades? Caias (sp?) Cascades never came back and I'm still only an Operative or Agent or something, not Spymaster. I don't know if I'm even able to get any higher, just wondering. If someone could answer me I'd be really grateful. :D

I know that Caius never comes back (unless he'll get wheeled back on in Bloodmoon)

Caius' non-return means that you'll never be able to advance any higher in the Blades, unfortunately. I don't think you can advance any more with the Ashlanders after finishing the main quest either.
Also, the guild/faction quests are independent of the main quest; killing Dagoth Ur doesn't open up anything new, AFAIK. There's a finite number of quests for each guild, and there comes a point where there's nothing more for you to do. You could always join some new factions, of course, or have fun with the huge number of plugins available (if you're on PC, of course). I did both these things after finishing the main quest, and also went exploring in all the areas which I hadn't been to yet. I was surprised at how many interesting places I'd missed.

Okay thanks for the info! (And I'm on Xbox so I can't use Plug-ins >.<) Maybe someday they'll allow us Xbox people to get 'em through Xbox live? We can always hope...

Jordana, I know how you feel. When I was pretty far in the main quest (i.e. past the Mehra Milo part) I realized that my character was way too lowly to do any serious damage on Red Mountain (he was only a lvl 13 or so then). So I travelled aaaall around Vvardenfell, and investigated every Dwemer and Daedric ruin I could find on the excellent paper map (I got my incredible Daedric battle axe from Bal Fell, I think!). And I levelled up to about 18, after which I continued on the thread of the story. It's well worth the trouble, if only to see the weird place names (who would seriously name a place Bthungthumz or Ashurnabitashpi?! :laff: )
And now I beat the game (well, a little while ago) I realized I hadn't looked into any of the Guilds or Houses as well as I should have. I did become GM of the Fighter's Guild, but that was it! I have now done some Thieve's Guild stuff (although my char is sort of a good guy, and I don't like stealing from or killing harmless NPCs), and I want to do more Ahnassi jobs.. But primarily I am working on the Mages Guild, because my magic skills were way down. (What I just did was a bit cheaty: I ditched some of my heavy carry-on luggage, went to Vivec and killed some Ordinators when they attacked me. I took most of their [very expensive] gear, and went to Creeper in Caldera.. I got over 10,000! I used a lot of that money on training fees on all the magic skills.. It took me a while to find people who could train me above level 35 or so, but I now have most of them [excluding Alchemy] almost at lvl 50.) When I've done some jobs for the GoM, I'll join a House.. Probably Hlaalu or Redoran, I don't like Telvanni. :)
Oops, hope I didn't bore you with this rant! I'm just really pumped up about the game, especially with all the new info I'm getting daily! I have to get Tribunal asap.. ;)

Hortator, glad you're enjoying the game and the forums so much :D It's nice that there's still so much to do after finishing the main quest, rather than having the game just come to a halt. I think you'll enjoy Tribunal as well. It has a lot of character, some beautiful graphics, and if you like big dungeons, you're set :)
Oh, and...this has nothing to do with the topic, really, but it's still funny. Click (

I have over 21,000! and nothing to spend it on! (I've spent LOTS of hours at the mudcrab trying to get the most out of the various weapons I have found at dedric ruins and such)
I've maxed out my major and minor skills and a few of the miscillanious(sp) and I'm working on them too.
but mostly, I just keep whatever weapons I like and sell the rest. I don't really buy any.
p.s. does anyone know how to increase the amount you can carry? Is that streanght or what? mines at 500 and hasn't gone any higher.

Yes, strength determines carrying capacity. Try making/finding strength enhancing items to maximize your load-bearing abilities. Also "feather" will lighten the load, but without the extra benefits that strength gives. There are some special gauntlets you find midway through the main quest (shortly after contracting corpus) which boost strength a good deal and with a lot of gold (which you apparently have) you can enchant a piece of armor with Fortify Strength.
I can carry a little over 700 right now. If I should need more room, I could probably enchant something else, but I don't feel the need. I just return to my house when I get too heavy and then return to my adventuring.
:D
Have a good day!

Feather also only lightens the load by 1/5 of what extra strength would allow you to carry for the same enchant points. i.e. DON'T use feather if you can possibly use enhance strength.

Btw, regarding additional quests that happen after you win... I know Trebonius has one to kill all Telvanni leaders, but that's only if you're not Telvanni (and maybe something else, I forget..). The Morag Tong are supposed to have some additional writs, but (as far as I can tell) it never gets triggered due to a bug in their dialogues.
