The latest Tucker Carlson thing: Cattle Mutilation conspiracy theories. I know FOX is shit, but this seems like ... getting shitter somehow.
(

One of the first "mysterious" examples is of a dead bull with its genitals and tongue missing. Very "mysterious" until you consider scavenger animals who can't break the tougher skin of a bull targeting the exposed soft parts.

Uhuh, from that I just found out that Tucker is promoting some snake oil "testicle tanning" machine that unprovably is going to raise your testosterone level.
As for the crash in testosterone levels that Tucker gives his ever-puzzled face about:

Quote:
Science also suggests some potential causes that Tucker Carlson most definitely won't be talking about in his documentary. Smoking raises testosterone levels in men. People smoke less today than they did in the 1980s.
The second cause of lowered testosterone levels is obesity. Since Fox News viewers, like the rest of the country, are part of the obesity crisis, it is a pretty safe bet that Carlson won't be telling his viewers to get off of the couch, stop watching his show and go exercise.
The last suspect for declining male testosterone in America is pollution. If Carlson and his viewers wanted to boost their testosterone, they could support the Green New Deal.
Also keep in mind that smoking is an appetite suppressant. So people stopped smoking and started eating more. Both things which lower average testosterone levels.
I'm actually interested in Tucker's documentary, I bet none of the things listed above get a mention. Willing to take bets that he has a whole section on soy-eaters and nothing on smoking.

EDIT: Also in news: Alex Jones' Infowars files bankruptcy to avoid paying out the Sandy Hook lawsuit. Says Infowars is broke, can't pay.
Also: Jones quietly siphoned off $72 million out of the company in the last three years: $18 million paid directly to himself and another $54 million into shell companies controlled by Jones and family members.

Seriously, I hope they end up taking the Infowars brand off him as well as his millions.

My surprised face when whipping gullible conservatives into a terrified froth has a paid product at the end of it.

What do you mean? Germany is doing pretty well now after selecting a certain Austrian guy some 90ish years ago. I mean, there were a couple of a bit less than perfect years after that, but hey, can't make an omelette without breaking a few (or almost 100 million, whatever) eggs, amirite?

I see anti-Macron rage simmering all over and the worst part is, I totally understand where it comes from and I feel the same.
Could you please elaborate on that a bit? I haven't followed French politics that much (or at all, really), so I've no idea what Macron's done or not done for people to hate him.
rachel on 18/4/2022 at 20:37
Macron's presidency has been spent dismantling social protections, extending the retirement age (and planning to do it again), mutilating protesters with grenades, keeping indicted ministers in charge, destroying education and health services by integrating the private sector into them, eliminating taxes for the rich, spending countless millions in public money hiring private consulting firms who then don't pay taxes because they're based abroad, because the administration fired or didn't renew the public servants who traditionally took care of it... His and his ministers' disdain for the lower class and even the middle class (or what's left of it) is evident every time they talks to or about them. He's a president of the 0.1% who doesn't seem to give a rat's ass about the general population. And so that population is rightly fed up with his shit.
And still, between him and the other one, five more years of this crap would be the lesser evil of the two. It just sucks.

Pretty much the very reason Biden is our President right now. He's still the lesser of two evils.

More on Ron DeSantis' war on Disney over the "don't say gay" bill.
(
https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2022/04/21/disney-special-district-florida-taxpayers-could-face-a-1-billion-debt-bomb-if-dissolved.html)
Quote:
A repeal of Disney's self-government status in Florida could leave local taxpayers with more than $1 billion in bond debt, according to tax officials and legislators.
The Florida House of Representatives on Thursday passed a bill that would dissolve Disney's special improvement district, escalating Gov. Ron DeSantis' attack on the company over its opposition to Florida's Parental Rights in Education bill, dubbed by critics the "Don't Say Gay" bill.
The state Senate passed the bill Wednesday, after it was first introduced Tuesday. It will now go to the governor for his signature.
...
Quote:
To fund the government services of Reedy Creek, Disney effectively taxes itself. While the precise tax flows of Reedy Creek are unclear, Scott Randolph, the tax collector for Orange County, said the Reedy Creek district collects roughly $105 million annually in general revenue.
On top of the $105 million, Disney also pays local property taxes. Public records show Disney is the largest taxpayer in central Florida, paying over $280 million in property taxes to the counties between 2015 and 2020.
If the special district is dissolved, Orange and Osceola counties would have to provide the local services currently provided by Reedy Creek. And, the $105 million in revenue would disappear, meaning county and local taxpayers would be on the hook for part or all of the added costs.
"If you dissolved Reedy Creek, that $105 million in revenue literally goes away, it doesn't get transferred," Randolph said.
The reason: Reedy Creek is what's known as an "independent tax district" meaning the tax revenues it generates are in addition to its local tax obligations, rather than a replacement of them. If the district is eliminated, the tax payments to Orange and Osceola counties would not increase, Randolph said.
So if they abolish Disney's self-governance status, they'll effectively be forced to subsidize Disney for $100 million worth of services that currently Disney provides for itself. Republicans are claiming they'll still get the money, but that's a dubious claim.
Quote:
But legislators and tax experts warn the bill creates an even larger potential problem for taxpayers in the form of bonds totaling more than $1 billion.
Reedy Creek has bond liabilities of between $1 billion and $1.7 billion, according to the district's financial filings. Under Florida statute, if Reedy Creek is dissolved, those liabilities are transferred to the local governments — either Bay Lake or Lake Buena Vista, or more likely, Orange and Osceola counties.
Just hilarious. Good work Florida Man.

Also on the crazy train related to that, Fox News now claims Disney is a "far left" corporation, and Republicans are spreading Disney = communist memes. Tweeted by an AZ state legislator, and even watermarked with his campaign logo:

Champion Of Trump's Wall Pleads Guilty To Fraud, Faces Years In PrisonBrian Kolfage, the founder of a viral campaign to pay for Donald Trump’s wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, admitted to federal prosecutors Thursday that he pocketed hundreds of thousands of dollars donors gave to his cause.
Kolfage has agreed to serve 51 to 63 months in prison, return the more than $17 million he raised for his his “We Build the Wall” campaign, pay more than $140,000 in unpaid taxes and pay $20,000 to $200,000 in fines as part of a plea agreement over false income taxes he reported in 2019.
“I induced donors to opt to the new project in part through the misrepresentation that I would not profit from We Build the Wall or take a salary or compensation,” Kolfage read from a prepared statement in a virtual court appearance Thursday. “I knowingly and willingly conspired to receive money from the donations.”
The conservative activist and conspiracy theorist admitted to siphoning $350,000 away from donors ― spending it on a boat, luxury vehicles, jewelry and plastic surgery ― despite promises he made not to take a cut of the funds or take any salary for his fundraising job.
“I knew what I was doing was wrong and a crime,” said Kolfage, who once insisted when the charges, filed shortly before the 2020 presidential election, were entirely “politically motivated, considering the timing of it.”
Judge Analisa Torres of the Southern District of New York has not yet accepted the plea. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 6.
Kolfage was arrested in the summer of 2020 alongside former Trump adviser Steve Bannon and two other men involved in the scheme. While Trump pardoned Bannon of any charges in the final moments of his presidency, he did not do the same for Kolfage and the other defendants.
One of them, Andrew Badolato, also pleaded guilty to wire fraud Thursday and faces more than four years in prison. The other, Timothy Shea, has pleaded not guilty.
