Btw, what does Q refer to in this context? Consider me a complete noob when it comes to US politics (I'm assuming it has something to do with politics, I might be wrong).

There was an anonymous poster on 4chan boards who claimed to have (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q_clearance) Q-clearance and hence became known as Q-anon. He posted cryptic clues, heavily insinuating and at other times outright claiming things such as there being an elite cabal of Democratic satanic pedophiles running the world and the president fighting them with the help of a number of patriotic white hats in the government and possibly (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_F._Kennedy_Jr.) Kennedy Jr who apparently faked his own death. There was going to be a day of reckoning, AKA The Storm, when all these demonic pedophiles (Clinton, Obama, etc) were going to be arrested and executed.
It started out as a big tent online conspiracy theory encouraging people to hook their own previous ideas into it (lizard people, sovereign citizen ideas, etc), mixing up and validating existing beliefs, but it turned into a minor cult/religion, with people going to extreme lengths in the name of it and leaving or alienating their families. Q-anon believers featured heavily in the January 6th attack on the Capitol and have been linked to quite a few smaller extremist incidents, in some cases even killing their children.

I wasn't sure if you were joking or serious, so I googled Q-anon. And goodness gracious! Why would anyone take some anonymous dude on 4chan seriously? Q-anon even has a flag.
Yeah I watched the January 6th attack on TV wondering what's going on. I thought it was shocking enough that Trump became the US president in 2016, it felt unreal. I remember thinking that 2016 would be the last normal year. Then the January 6th attack felt like things just got even crazier. But Q-anon just sounds too much like a cartoon or a joke. Feels so unreal. We have nothing like this in Finland, at least I haven't heard of anything like it. The most disturbing thing for a long time was when the Finn's party broke in two, conspiracies suggesting that our president Sauli Niinistö was somehow in on it.

In Finland, the Q-brand itself doesn't seem to have taken much hold, but the ideas seem to have been absorbed into general "plandemia" and 5G conspiracy theories and anti-EU movements: (
https://www.helsinkitimes.fi/finland/finland-news/domestic/18262-qanon-and-the-looming-threat-of-misinformation-in-finland.html)
The allure of Q-anon stems first from the gamified nature of the theory, where the players construct ("bake") their own theories based on "Q-drops" of "crumbs". Secondly, it has to do with older people drawn into it who don't understand much about online platforms and culture. They often consume it not directly from the source, but from second hand through interpreters ("bakers") in their own communities who are generally seen as trustworthy. Thirdly, it mostly just validates and expands on already existing beliefs, whether they have to do with new age spiritualism or a belief in aliens or that jews are secretly running the world.

No. Not a single time.
There hasn't been a single time when the Official Government Story has turned out to be fake? Ever? That's a bold claim even for you guys.

Well there was the weapons of mass destruction claim but technically chemical weapons could be called that and they were found buried in the desert so... eh. Satanic child sex DEMONRATS!? No.

The idea that Musk has been targeted with inspections as retaliation by some shadowy Regime falls on its face for a number of reasons -- the inspections were happening already before Musk acquired Twitter, there have been no sanctions for reporting failures, the company has only been fined a pitiable amount for a combined total of 50k for safety violations resulting in death and serious injury, and workplace safety is widely known to be lax not only in SpaceX, but also in Tesla factories, where workplace injuries also abound at a rate more than twice that of the industry average.
If anything, it rather looks like government and state agencies have quite conveniently been overlooking these safety violations and that they have very much been enabling Musk in a good old billionaire fashion to move fast and break things, except in this case some of those things are humans.

Yes, the fines were low and the government
used to overlook things, and you never heard about it until now. It's in the news now because now they want to force Musk to do...something, and they will shut down/seize all of his businesses if he doesn't do whatever it is.

I merely stated that Twitter used to ban anyone who posted "misinformation," as defined by the government. Even if that information later turned out to be true. You started ranting about QAnon, I did not bring that up.
Starker on 14/11/2023 at 08:18
As for Twitter banning everyone at the direction of the government, it's been proven to be bullshit by Musk's own released Twitter files where even the most damning evidence proved they didn't just blindly follow the requests of government agencies and even the requests they did follow were for the most part quite reasonable:
