Not enough memory... - by Snakebite

Not enough memory...You need at least 32 Mb of free space to run Thief 2.
I got this weird error. I had tons of hard disk space on all drives. After checking Thief folder I deleted some of the archives in /Allsaves folder and I was able to run the game again. Has anyone else experienced the same problem before? Is there any fix about this?

"Thief is saying it cannot play, because I do not have enough space, even if I have a lot of free disk space: how do I fix this?
Open the file user.cfg found in the Thief directory and add the line skip_starting_checks to it and save it. Please note, it may be necessary to create this file."

I have a similar problem, but I don't know if it's exactly the same or not. .
I can play the games (well, I'm playing FMs) and it will be working fine, but suddenly I wasn't able to save anymore. It told me there wasn't enough disk space. Will the same solution work for my problem?

Check the properties of THAT EXACT HDD. If you are down to only a few MB on the drive then it's true, you don't have the space.
If you have hundreds of MB left then something else is happening. The "fix" should only be effective against the game starting. I could be wrong, but having space in which to save a mission/game has never popped up in the same context as the CAN'T PLAY, THIEF due to lack of space.
You could try it. It won't hurt, and only corrects a defect in THIEF that has to do with it not recognizing the newer megagigabyte HDD.

I'm not sure how to do that, I'm afraid. :(

I ran into the inability to save quite a few times in T1. Whenever it happened I just deleted small amounts of data from the hard drive, restarted the game, tried to save, and repeated that until it finally saved without errors.
