My tactic is to kill all enemies of a level, one by one, one bullet in the head.
My primary weapon (mid and long range) is the pistol and the second is the dragon's tooth sword.
Since I escaped from the prison I also carry an assault riffle and an assault shotgun but I don't like them as they are automatic, have lots of recoil and don't do lot of damage, they are good for close range melee which I don't get into.
My problem is that I find less and less 10mm ammo.
I'm about to meet Nicolette in Paris, I have 46 rounds for the pistol so I wonder how I'll be able to finish the game.
PS : I also keep a mini crossbow.

46 rounds of pistol ammo is loads. The most you can ever have is only 150 rounds.
If you're going for a 'one shot, one kill', that's 46 corpses right there: in that time, you're almost certain to find more ammo.
For what it's worth, enemies tend to carry pistols less frequently toward the end of the game (as you're noticing), but hidden stashes of 10mm ammo are still dotted around the place, and in crates (it's the default contents of an ammo crate, incidentally). Just spend some time hunting. :)

I agree with the doctor. You should be able to find replacement ammo on the 46 bodies you can kill at max efficiency. The only problem with lack of ammo is if you keep missing, and the type of gameplay you're doing suggests that you don't miss very often.
The Paris Police all carry 10 mm I believe, you'll just have to be willing to break the law (more than you already are).

I played a pistol character once all the way through, never had an ammo problem.
