Hey, Type O Negative are awesome.
October Rust is a classic album for Halloween.
Just...no. Are you listening to yourself? They had a fucking album titled "Bloody Kisses" and I think they were serious. I can't even type it without laughing.

Was that their Valentine's Day album?

Poll's missing the fucking comedy option.
I only heard Nightwish recently because a friend of mine copied an album of theirs to my PS3 when I wasn't looking.
Are they supposed to sound like Evanescence fused to the ass-end of a Carl Orff-style oratorio?

Sorry fettster but you're completely wrong. That album was an impressive skewering of goth subculture, bringing a sense of morbid masculinity and humour to a scene that until then had been thought to be relegated to scrawny assholes trying to look like Molly Ringwald in The Breakfast Club.
Type O Negative are awesome. Maybe goth metal ain't your speed (and the subgenre of female-fronted symphonic gothic metal- also known as estrocore- makes me want to puke) but that doesn't mean bands that play in that genre are forbidden from being awesome.

Yeah, love a bit of Type O. And to listen to too!
Its a bit hit and miss but some of it is just great. Love the way they do ultra dark romance as well as some real raw heart-on-sleeve stuff. And they have just the right amount of tounge in cheek.
Did anyone see that Ricky Lake (I think) where Peter totally coped off with, and doubtlessly later shagged, one of his fans?

Just not my cup of tea, I just feel silly listening to it, even alone. I grew up playing in bands with most of the folks from Evanescence and I love them dearly, but I can't stand that faux-drama, brooding, whiner shit, whether it's a parody or not. I think the killing stroke for me with Type O was when I saw them open for Ozzy and they were so Over The Top Ebil it just came off as corny, not tongue in cheek. I appreciate parody when it's accomplished with a light touch, not by hitting people in the face with a hammer. I'm big on subtlety I guess.
Then again, I own 11 Dream Theater albums, so what the fuck do I know about subtlety? The heart wants what it wants. :)

So you took a group of white guys from Brooklyn at face value when they sang "kill all the white people"?
Plus, " Unsuccessfully Coping with the Natural Beauty of Infidelity" is a great title for a song with "I know you're fucking someone else" as the refrain.

Well, as long as you don't start listening to Pain of Salvation, fettums, you're still okay in my book. ;)

Er...I've said about a million times I KNOW IT'S A PARODY. That doesn't keep it from being corny.

Unless the goth scene has gone all ginger while I wasn't looking then I think you mean Ally Sheedy. ;)
Type O Negative are hilariously awesome though :thumb:
