If in over half of a lifetime you haven't encountered any problem more sereve than a video game... then I envy you. Really. Could you tell me how did you do that? Because right now I would really trade some of my problems for a hysteria over a video game.
Why being passionate about a game and defending its roots is hysteria, while arguing the way you do is not?
If having problems in real life should prevent people to debate on a game dedicated forum, what are you doing here?

I have determined, due to your lack of ability to perceive the fundamental differences between NuThief and THIEF, your fulfillment as an amusement.
Please stay with us, as you will be appreciated for the unwittingly fool that you are.
Oh I can perceive many differences between the two games mostly for the worse in nuthief as you call it, I simply dispute the presumption that the original was a purely stealth experience. Violence was a viable and often optimal choice. Especially on the non human levels.
Please don't descend to throwing personal insults, that's the argumentative domain of drunks and children. I know the long standing members of this community are better than that :)

The difference is that I don't call people liars and trolls basing on where they came from and I try to determine what Thief really is like. Old and new.
And I don't have problems with being passionate and debating, I have problems with being blindfolded with fanaticism and despising new Thief for the sake of despise (and for having the same traits that old Thiefs ). And I've seen so much anger and aggresion toward EMs representatives and mods, that I really wonder how would some people here react to someone who really wronged them? Would they have enough anger for someone who stole their cars? Burned their houses? Strangle their children with his underwear? Or would it be all burn out on someone who comes from other forum?
I know that with game as complex as Thief everyone will probably have different opinion on what makes it so great. But treating EM like modern embodiment of evil because their vision is different than ours is a bit of an overkill, don't you think?
And Dia, my dear, your paranoia is getting out of hand. I don't even have an account over EM forum and I registered here to report problems with Xorak's "Zealot's Hollow". Pull yourself together.

I'm not the one accusing older members here of getting hysterical over a video game. Dear. Why do you even bother if the game means so little to you in the first place?
Nevermind. Your opinion really doesn't interest me. We all have our opinions, but accusing others of being hysterical because they feel passionately about a game in which they've invested over ten years is a cheap shot. Ridiculing older members here is not a good way to go about making friends.
Dear.

There are large areas of grey between "not carrying", "not carrying that much", "being passionate" and "being hysterical".
For me attacking people who disagree with you, calling EM liars then twisting their worlds to make new Thief look action-ridden and full of button-mashing exceeds "being passionate".
And why on Earth would I like to become friends with someone who calls me EM troll then feels insulted?

Problems .. Ok I'll bite
Eldest brother - dead, second eldest brother - dead, mother - dead, father - buggered off when I was a kid so I don't know or care if he's dead, multiple close relative also dead just me and my sister left now, just recently watched my partners mother, a woman I loved, wither and die of cancer, made redundant so started own company and struggling with the recession to keep a roof over my head.
I can go on if you'd like but I think it's fair to say I know what problems are.
I'm not an addictive personality, I don't do drugs, I do drink a little.
I'm passionate about lots of things, usually about defending the weak from the bullies, if I see injustice, intolerance, bigotry or unreasoning hatred I'm there defending the weak, I volunteer my time, money and what resources I have to help the needy on a regular basis.
So I'd be grateful if you didn't question my perspective and accuse me of hysteria, I've never been hysterical in my life.
Thief is the only game that's ever hooked me, I don't despise or hate the new game I'm not hysterical about it, I think it's heading in the wrong direction and has features I personally think should not be present and lacks features I think should be present, so I'm not going to buy it.
You like it, fine with me, go buy it, no problem here.
But try not to be so dismissive of people who disagree with you.

Sorry is a very inadequate word but I am sorry you've had such a sodding awful time of it. And after our own recent experiences in Sheffield I wouldn't wish running your own business there, on anyone. You're lucky if you manage to find a bank that isn't corrupt. But I do wish you well with it. Hang in there - I'm reliably informed that you're a Valkyrie, you can do anything.
And now, I think a line can be drawn and the discussion can return to whatever the discussion was about before the derailment on page 1 or 2. And I've made a new rule: no spats on clearing's birthday.

LGS programmed objectives such as "kill all haunts" and "kill all bugbeasts". What could they have in mind when doing so?
Kill all haunts is an objective from Brother Murus, which you can avoid. Kill all bugbeasts is an objective that appears after you killed a bugbeast, which again you can avoid.
It seems you have a little love for Thief, as you said, it is just a video game for you. Prince of Persia is just a video game, GTA is just a video game for me. Thief is not.
So why do you even bother posting in TTLG? We are fans of Thief. (yeah, we are taffing cult!) Yes we are fanatics (fan is short for fanatic you know that right?), but we are not blindfolded.
By the way, why oh why, I don't know any ladies like Dia and other Valkyries in here? Taff! >_<
And indeed Esme, what nickie said, hang in there! We know you can do anything.
Esme on 14/7/2013 at 19:28
Thanks for the sympathy guys, not necessary though, it's just life, it gets dealt with.
I was just demonstrating that I knew the difference between real life and a videogame, as I'm sure we all do, I've no doubt someone here has had it worse than I have.
I'm also passionate about MotoGP, superb race, amazed Cal Crutchlow finished never mind came second with the injuries he was carrying, bit sad Valle came third but Marquez has definitely had his weetabix, well deserved win there.
Hmm if valkyries can do anything ... and I'm a valkyrie .... I wonder if I can get EM to make a game I'm prepared to buy ? :cheeky:

Maybe the Valkyries should be put in charge for awhile, huh Esme?
