What the hell does it have to do with the conversation?!
I get the impression a number of people on this forums weight the value of an opinion with how much time has been invested in the game. Such has been used to dismiss the opinion of young taffers in past threads.

Your impression is deceptive...For it is those fortunate souls with the best understanding, which enthrall the most credibility.

I always thought he hated them through disbelief that the phrophecies were true. At the end of thief 2 we see Garrett challenging that assumption upon asking if it was all written. In DS he then actively seeks out the phrophecies. My interpretation was this was Garrett maturing into the role of the one true keeper.
Garrett is free assuming no more bad stuff can happen. Given it's safer to assume bad stuff will happen, and Garrett stands to lose if it does, and furthermore knowing he has the ability to prevent, I reckon Garrett would at least passively maintain the role of a watcher.
I admit, end of TMA gave that impression. I think that's because as you say, he believes in prophecies, but I don't think he likes that fact, you know, your fate is already written and you have to do what is written. That's not a nice thing, especially for someone like Garrett. I think he is quite happy when glyphs are gone. His fate may still exist, but at least, no one knows and no one says what to do anymore.
He may observe yes, at least for himself, but that does not mean he will quit his job.

You've seen 10-15 minutes of gameplay and have read few reports, there's no way in hell they're going to make whole game based on that. They promised deeper and darker threat to the City, suprises regarding non-human enemies and there's the deal with old Keeper's constructions and some sort of Glyphs. New Thief is still fantasy, but if you simply refuse to see that, there's nothing to talk about.
I only hope this whole secrecy will be worth it.
They said there will be no zombies, haunts etc. I am not refusing anything, I am just not buying that whole "magic will be more subtle, it will be mysticism instead" thing.

And that they won't throw in some meaningless "religious" factions, something as lame as Mechanist or as pointless as this cults from T2X.
Yeah, mechanists are lame and a rebel group against Baron is taffing original right?

I agree. However, understanding doesn't arise automatically simply from playing the game for longer. An idiot can read Shakespeare for a lifetime, but that in no way implies they will get the underlying message.
Discrediting someones opinion based the number of posts they have made is daft, at best.

You need to pay attention, legoman...it is those with the best understanding...It would be wise to heed my warning.
It is good to know, that true spirits and guardians of the THIEF experience, like Hamadriyad, protect and preserve the way.

I think your missing the point, the number of posts someone makes doesn't necessarily correlate with understanding. As such, why do we regularly see people disputed upon offering a contradictory opinion on the basis of how long they have been members on ttlg?
Why would I be wise in heeding your warning? This is an internet forum focused around a game, I'm hardly arguing in a court of law in the hope of avoiding prison!

It is indeed you, who are missing the point...I judge not on post count, only on the value of what is said...You are arguing with your own imaginary reality.

Given that entire forum is set up to discuss an interactive imaginary reality, what's wrong with that? :)

The difference between your own imaginary misconceptions and the virtual reality world of THIEF, is the difference.
I sense reluctant contrition...and as a novice, I encourage you to appreciate the elders that surround you...For regardless of time, their knowledge will enlighten you, if that is what you seek.
