The gameplay demo showed Garrett infiltrating northcrest manor. Anyone noticed that 'northcrest' is already canon in so much as there is a vandalism report of a solar collector on northcrest road in the t2 mission framed?
My apologies if this has been stated previously.

And there's original Lizotte's painting - perhaps the same lord Gervaisius acquired on auction in Ramirez Manor? ;)
So much for devs never playing original games...

The attention to detail shows the devs must have studied the previous titles closely. Lets hope their reinterpretation of garrets persona doesn't deviate too much from what went before.

Any moron can 'borrow' models and names from another game. It doesn't mean that they've played said game. Both are easily obtainable without having to play the game itself- just open the game files and start borrowing.
They've also name a bird in T4 'Jenivere'. How very clever of them.

You think it is more likely that a dev sat down and trawled through the games files for inspiration rather than look for ideas by playing the game itself?

'Trawling' would take far less time than actually playing thru the first three games. So would picking the brains of one of the dev team members who may have actually played the originals. From what I've seen of T4 videos released so far, it looks as though most of the dev team have played Mirror's Edge, Dishonored, Assassins Creed, and DX:HR rather than TDP, TMA, & TDS.

And why not play those games? Each is good in its own right (with possibly the exception of assassins creed which I found boringly repetative). Regardless, I don't think there is any reason to assume the devs haven't played the originals. The fact there are these little overlaps in the details suggests to me that the originals have been played carefully (as apposed to rushing through and ignoring readables for example). At the end of the day, I think its fair to assume individuals go into the gaming industry from initially having a love of playing games. That in itself suggests the devs are more likely to have played the game rather than only studying the game files.

haha dia I think you're wrong on that one. Hey we're making a sequel to this game, let me just go through all of the resource files and try and work out what the hell everything means rather than just playing it. Sounds about as likely as it is, I think.

Yeah, but I trust the T4 devs about as far as I can throw them right now, Viv.
Besides, I'm feeling cranky.

Obviously you studied the previous titles closely.
