Yeah, tacky cutscenes and all, this game is really fun... so far the missions seem a bit underwhelming, but I think I'm getting to the point where it picks up (the one on the other planet, whats it called Planet Maggie? ... argh, the horror which that just inflicted on my mind in too much to bear)
the feeling of run around like a loon shooting is made worse by the sprites, unfortunately :erg:
Still, it really is good fun, and I'm kicking myself that I didn't get it earlier :D
I have a question though, how much difference does selecting the different characters for the team do? It seems to affect their accuracy and not much else?

Welcome aboard soldier, hope you enjoy this place.
In answer to your inquiry I have the following to say:
Selecting different squad mates will make a difference based on their specialy. Weapon specialists are the ones with good shooting, and also the ones you will prefer by your side in a firefight. Other specialists, such as electronics or demolitions, must be used to complete certain missions and their abilities can be used for other things as well, but they're not so much useful anyway.
Recon specialists serve better as spotters (at least I am under the impression they identify enemies from a longer range) and to lead your squad unnoticed through terrain, the later ability is fairly useless since you can probably do better yourself with the right degree of ability. And finaly, repair specialists, apart from being necessary to complete some missions, may also fix your PBA's systems.
And planet called Maggie? I don't think so.... don't you mean Thatcher or Saara or Karros? Those are the only "worlds" (the last being a moon) I remember you visiting in the game apart from New Hope (not certain, it's been a long time)

err, Thatcher. As in Maggie Thatcher, former PM. (really awful joke, I know ;) )
Thanks for the information about the specialists, I'd already worked out most of it but I was still wondering what the recon ones did :)

Demolitions is far from useless if you can predict the enemy's line of advance.... plant the demo packs out there, lead the enemy across them, and --boom--!
Most of the time, you'll want to rely on your weapons speciliasts. My person favorite was Angel, who seemed best at keeping up with me in kill stats. :)
