Duh, all those TRADITIONAL Hollywood Christmas films... and even some violent ones! :grr:
If you want a really non-traditional thing, try this tale movie which is a must see for all kids (both little and big ones) in my country on every Christmas:
Official : THE FEATHER FAIRY (

Imdb user review :
"Here's a seemingly simple fairy tale movie that's palpably beautiful on every level -- visually, emotionally, and as an unfettered act of imagination.
Giulietta Masina is the Feather Fairy (Perinbaba), a grandmotherly character whose role is to provide snow for the world. Her interactions with the young boy are loving and ripe with wisdom and compassion. She is played physically by Federico Fellini's wife, and vocally by a talented Slovak actress. Her voice-over ability to define the character is no less powerful than Masina's, so that the role is a brilliant and seamless collaboration.
The film is gorgeous to watch, thanks to the spectacular Slovak mountain landscape location, and the straightforward beauty of white feathers seen floating against a sunny deep-blue sky."(

Now the bad news is you won't enjoy this beauty, because it wasn't released on DVD with English dubbing ... so you may get back to Die Hard or Bad Santa. :(

I'm surprised no one has mentioned The Thing yet.

It does. Pity it's unmitigated shit.
As for Jaws, I reckon it's always on at Christmas because it's a sure-fire ratings winner - who doesn't feel like they have to watch it all as soon as they see while channel surfing?

Nah, it's mitigated shit. About 16% of the film are quite bearable, and part of that is actually quite sweet.
The rest is unadulterated crap, though, I fully agree.

Yeah, because Halloween's all about the Christmas spirit.
The main theme of the film is Christmas spirit, the murderous Christmas spirit thats inside all of us. Its a subtle undertone, but its there.
Idiot.
