My situation is almost identical to (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=67139&highlight=no+sound) this one - the main differences being that I'm using an ATI Mach64 and a ProAudio Spectrum instead of a Voodoo 3 and AWE64. Oh, and the system is pure DOS; no windows.
The installer and setup detect my soundcard fine and the sound works, too, but in-game it's music only. I tried editing the digi_io and digi_irq in tn.cfg (they were some strange sequence of characters - three parallel horizontal lines, followed by an o, followed by an IntersectionOfSets symbol) to 220 and 5, to match my BLASTER variable and the settings detected by the configurator, but to no avail.
On a non-critical but related note, my PAS is behaving oddly; to get it to work with SFC, I need to install the drivers (but they're installed already, and the test proggies work!), undo some the messing with autoexec and config that it does (it installs its own CD driver, trashing the SCSI cd driver that actually
works), and do a soft reboot. Afterwards, it works until the next hard reboot.
This isn't nearly as bad as the problem above, but it would be nice if someone knows how to fix this.
[EDIT]
A (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10317&highlight=terra+nova) third case. This one didn't garner any replies other.
At least the music works, and the music in TN rocks. Not being able to hear when I'm getting shot has mangled my suit twice already, though.
[FURTHER EDIT]
The game 'RAMA' works; on the other hand, Rama has a ProAudio Spectrum setting, whereas SFC only understands Soundblasters.
