Hi there,
playing SSH2 for the first time and without walkthroughs, I would be stuck -.-
Now, unfortunately they don't help me this time - There's no R&D card in Watt's office, not in the desk or anywhere... Could you tell me where to find it?

Hi there,
playing SSH2 for the first time . . .
What's that, a Unix version of SS2? *ba-dum tish*
Sorry, couldn't resist. ;) Anyway, do you have any mods installed? Some of them change the location of plot items. Also, are you sure you're in his office? It's in the flooded are of MedSci, at the far end, and has a nameplate next to the door.

Those few lines make me want to replay SS2 all over again. Could it be this time of the year?

Well Shodan/the woman she is impersonating told me I am in her/his office and that I should have a look around.
I've installed the System Shock 2 Mod Manager and also the SS2 Kolya SS2Tool v2.9.

Wait...this is your first time through the game?
In any case, if you got that message, then you're indeed in the right spot.

Any mods activated in the mod manager? If not, there's no reason that they keycard would be missing. Perhaps you could try replacing the medsci2.mis file in your SS2 directory with the one from the SHOCK folder on your CD.

I opened an older savegame and finally found the card ;)

So, you've ruined the game for yourself before even playing it?

Oh ffs people, maybe he couldn't wait to see what went on and then was lucky enough to snag a copy several years later so he could play it himself.

I agree with Matthew. It took me about a year to find a copy of SS2 that I could stand to pay for after playing through the demo, and I would have spoiled the shit out of it if youtube had been an option back then. I mean really, at this point the big Shodan twist is like finding out Vader is Luke's father.
