This is awful. 57 too, still relatively young. Loved all of his music, he was just one of those mega creative guys who never stopped, and was always a little different. He will be missed.
I remember at the height of his weirdness (I know, it's hard to determine when that would be), there was a humorous multiple choice quiz in one of the rock music magazines I used to buy (Circus?). It was hilarious at the time, and it still makes me laugh when I think about it. These were the 2 questions that related to Prince:
Multiple Choice - Pick One -
Prince is:
A) A woman
B) A man
C) Something that you'll never understand
(and then further down the page)
Prince is:

B) Your friend.
