Drop down on the store shack, then you can go straight in or climb back to the and find a window that opens.

Ahh, a great game. I especially like how you get bonuses depending on your play style once you find all the intelligence items in a mission. I played with "silent death" style and kept raking in stealth and accuracy bonuses. I did damn near perfect in "A Man of Influence" and got a reputation bonus. Anybody got any idea what that does?

Cate Archer is so much nicer to play than Lara Croft though.
Hypothetically, of course: Who would win in a fight between Lara Croft and Cate Archer, and why? My money's on Cate because she has nicer equipment.
Not to mention the clunkiness of Lara's controls vs. the ease and smoothness of Cate's moves :)

Hmm. Can someone tell me how the heck I use the flashlight? It's not in the inventory, not a weapon to be selected, there's no key set to it in the control list...

Isn't the default key for the flashlight "L"?

That NOLF flashlight is WAY powerful, better than the one in NOLF2 which is just a keyring light. Too bad you can't stun/blind people with it. :D

Interesting.
I have to say, NOLF's cutscenes
are incredibly long, but I enjoyed them nevertheless. I thought the writing was very good and amusing. (

It has been quite a few years since I last played the game, though, who knows whether I'd still think so now.

I always wondered what those bonuses actually did. I wonder if the marksman bonuses and whatnot that you get at the end of missions are also totally meaningless (aside from adding flavor).
I never had a problem with NOLF's cutscenes. In fact, outside of cutscenes, I always sit and wait when guards are having conversations so I can hear the entire thing. It is such a well-written game.
Oh, and those reputation bonuses in conversations did have one minor effect IIRC - getting max reputation in a conversation gives you an extra intelligence item in the stats at the end.

Yeah, me too. I don't think I really noticed they were really long until about the third time I played it through and had been off playing other things that showed a more filmic influence.
It seemed like they were just being realistic as much as anything. Games aren't beholden to the clock like films and such so they were just going to let these scenes play out..
It is a pity they couldn't really kick out the jams on the animation like they needed to. But 2001 and all that. They definitely made up for it in the second one. That has mimes in it for crying out loud.
