Eh, dunno, I like Morrowind. But it's still a fairly mediocre game compared to, say, Gothic 2.

Having not yet played Thief 4 I can't say for sure whether or not it's a bad game, but let's assume that it is for this comment. Bad games released with modding tools often get significant modifications made to it to allow the game to become better than the developers ever would have updated it to be. They become okay games and often get articles titled "10 Essential Mods for ___________". Bad games with a dedicated following, however, often find entirely new scenarios or games created using the mod tools. With mod tools, Thief's dedicated community could've brought the game back no matter how bad it is at launch. Launching without these tools is a massive mistake, and I feel certain in saying that it will absolutely crush Thief 4's longevity. Being that the series' following has not had a game released in some time, and with the bad press waving away future expectations of the franchise, I feel like this one exclusion is a giant kick in the gut to the entire community. I just hope that The Dark Mod and its future offers what everyone is eager for.

This I'll definitely agree with. I like the Elder Scroll games alright, but I'd never put any of them on a list of my top 10 personal favorites. They're fun, but they don't do anything to stand out from other, better games.
Gothic 2? If I were to make that list right now, it'd easily rank somewhere in the first 5.
