I almost walked out on the trailer
No seriously, it just came across so inanely cliche and cheezy I almost couldn't stomach sitting till the end of the trailer. No way I could force myself to watch this. Enjoy to the rest of ya folks though!
Try (

Having an opinion is not being a little bitch, however Attacking someone for theirs is. Get a life you ballbag.

That's definitely a step in the right direction.

The film was alright. Contrary to most people gushing about Hit-Girl, I felt her overuse diminished the story. I was enjoying it as a comedy and unique spin on the super-hero story when it was actually about Kick-Ass. Then the second half is nothing but Hit-Girl slaughtering everyone and a gay jetpack.
The violence and action was VERY well done. I just thought it would have been better off as its own film.

The story? What story? The one about Kick-ass trying to get into the hot chick's pants? No, the main plot in this movie is the one about Big Daddy and HitGirl's quest for revenge. Kick-ass is really just a sidecharacter. To me it felt, at times, like he was oddly shoehorned into this narrative.
Great film though. :)

It's like Jack Burton, the movie's hero is actually the sidekick.
Loved the movie but it sure is fucked up.

Good, but not quite great. The central performances were all brilliant - kick-ass and red mist nailed the 'I'd better pretend to be cool now' car dancing scene perfectly - but the direction was just a little flat. Whatsisface vaughn (the director, whoever he is, also did layer cake and stardust) has a really, really indistinct visual style that makes everything look like an episode of relic hunter. He's not incompetent, but he does seem to be rarely better than competent. I'd love to have seen what someone like blomkamp would have done with the cast and the material.
PS Hitgirl was awesome. If it genuinely upsets you that a film has a 12 year old girl calling people cunts, doing bicycle kicks and shooting people in the face in mid-air, then you're probably the sort of person who tuts-tuts at rap music.

I have to admit that I loved Kick-ass. I feel like I shouldn't, like I'm enjoying the worst kind of sugary treat.
I wasn't offended in the least by Hit-Girl. Part of this is because I was inoculated via all the outrage I already saw on the Internetz, but also because I liked seeing a little girl who wasn't a victim, and instead perpetrated violence. I've also seen a lot of anime and there are quite a lot of young kids and teens shown as head-severing badasses.
Fun film though. None of my friends wanted to see it, so I had to go alone. Boo!

The only thing I didn't like out Hit Girl was the overt sexualisation of a child. The violence and swearing from a little girl is amusing enough, but casting her in the same light as immature-sex-fantasy-female-superheroes was a bit uncomfortable viewing.
